Everest Region Trek

The Everest region is by far the most popular trekking route on earth. Boasting some of the world's highest treks, this region offers all kinds of adventures suitable for all levels of trekkers.

The Everest region is home to some of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, etc. Hence, the popularity amongst mountain lovers!

While these snow-capped peaks are the primary drawcard, this region offers a lot more than just the iconic mountains. It's a world of its own with the jagged Himalayas, deep valleys, massive icefalls, vast glaciers, and beautiful settlements.

Located in Nepal's northeastern province, the Everest region is home to the legendary Sherpa tribes. Thus, trekking in the Everest region offers deep cultural and spiritual experiences, making your journey even more splendid.

The most commercial trek in the Everest region is, without a doubt, the classic Everest Base Camp Trek. The close second to the classic Everest Base Camp Trek would be the Everest High Passes Trek and Everest Gokyo Lake Trek. But that's not all!

Everest region offers a lot of options that suit everyone's budget, time frame, and appetite for adventure. Apart from the popular options, there are other remarkable treks in this region, such as Everest Panorama Trek, Everest View Trek, and Gokyo Lake Renjo La Pass Trek.

Each route in Everest region treks offers impressive views of the Himalayas, high valleys, and Sherpa villages.

Just about all the treks in the Everest region begin from Lukla. The 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla is considered the world's most extreme getaway experience by many.

Upon landing at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla, the route head northward to the village of Namche Bazaar. Popularly known as the Sherpa capital of the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar is a historic trading hub that has now developed into a colorful market town. Despite the changes, this small town has retained its ancient culture and hospitality even to this date. From Namche Bazaar, the trail diverges in different directions based on the trek you choose.

However, the elite trekkers can go for the switchback that begins from Jiri. It'll take you through the mid-hills of Solu all the way to the highest section of the Khumbu region. However, this option will add between 8 to 10 days to your journey to the Everest region.
