Everest Base Camp Heli Trek Overview

The Everest Base Camp Heli Trek is suitable for trekkers wanting to reach the EBC and Kala Patthar while skipping the long return journey. This trip spans 115 kilometers (72 miles) across nine walking days in an 11-day trek. Beginning and finishing in Lukla, the path offers moderate to rugged terrain that active trekkers can complete. The highest elevations include climbs to 5,545m at Kala Patthar and 5,364m at Everest Base Camp. Set in Nepal's Khumbu area, the route passes through Sagarmatha National Park and follows the Dudh Koshi River.

The journey starts with a thrilling flight into Lukla. Next, walk through Sherpa communities where old Buddhist ways still guide everyday living. Each day shows new scenery from thick forests to the frozen lands near base camp. Stay overnight in classic mountain lodges offering basic rooms and filling food. On the way back, walk down from Kala Patthar to Gorak Shep and catch a helicopter flight to Lukla, then on to Kathmandu. The right trekking months of this trek are March to May and September to November, though year-round trips are possible.

The Everest Base Camp Heli trek reaches its peak height at Kala Patthar (5,545m), where dawn reveals Mount Everest in golden light. All needed permits, covering Sagarmatha National Park and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, come with the package. During this trek, hikers can connect with a region built by wild nature, old traditions, and the tough spirit of mountain communities along this path.

Everest Base Camp Heli Trek Route - 11 days

After landing at Tribhuwan International Airport, all trekkers are safely transported to a comfortable 5-star hotel in Kathmandu for a rest and a detailed trip briefing. After spending one night in Kathmandu Valley, the real adventure begins with an exciting flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. It is known as one of the world's most thrilling airports.

The Lukla flight departs from either Kathmandu Domestic Airport or Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, depending on the season. Mountain weather changes quickly, so keeping an extra day free before international flights or staying flexible with schedules helps avoid delays. Then the trek passes through lush green forests with towering mountains towards Phakding.

Two acclimatization days are essential for proper altitude adjustment, strategically positioned in Namche and Dingboche. During the Namche rest day, trekkers often visit the renowned Sherpa Museum or undertake a scenic hike to Hotel Everest View. From this special spot, visitors see incredible peaks, including Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Taboche.

Leaving Namche behind, the trek continues toward the villages of Tengboche and Dingboche. The path to Tengboche passes through the beautiful Dudh Koshi Valley and past Tengboche Monastery. This monastery represents one of the region's oldest and most revered spiritual sanctuaries. Beyond Tengboche, the route winds toward Dingboche, with trekkers crossing the rushing waters of the Imja River and traversing the picturesque settlement of Pangboche.

During the second rest day, hikers climb up Nagarjun Hill for great exercise and views. This elevated vantage point commands sweeping views across Chhukung Valley. The panorama reveals Lobuche East, iconic Ama Dablam, and numerous towering giants. Following this essential acclimatization period, the expedition continues toward Lobuche. The trail skirts the massive Khumbu Glacier before reaching Gorakshep.

From Gorakshep, trekkers begin their final walk toward the Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters. Standing at the EBC, the base camp of the world's highest mountain, creates an extraordinary feeling of achievement. After soaking in this memorable experience, head back to Gorakshep to spend the night.

The next morning starts with a climb from Gorakshep up to Kala Patthar. From this notable landmark, trekkers can see the sunrise paint the majestic peaks of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Pumori in bright golden light. Now, walk back downhill to Gorakshep for a satisfying breakfast. The adventure concludes with an exhilarating helicopter flight back to Lukla. Following a brief layover, the final scheduled flight transports back to Kathmandu Valley.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu

When your flight arrives at Tribhuvan International Airport, a team representative will be waiting with a "Nepal Hiking Team" sign. After clearing immigration and collecting your bags, we transfer you to your luxury hotel.

After settling into your luxury hotel, you can relax in your room or wander around the nearby streets. Your guide will come by later to go over the trek details and check all your mountain gear.

  1. Accommodation: Hotel

Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,860m) and Trek to Phakding (2,652m), Distance: 8 km, Duration: 3-4 hrs.

The first day of your Everest Base Camp Heli Trek begins with an exciting mountain flight to Lukla from either Kathmandu or Ramechhap, based on seasonal conditions. Landing at this famous cliffside airport, built at 2,860 meters, delivers a thrilling introduction to your trek.

Upon arrival, you’ll get to meet your friendly porter team and see the bronze monument honoring Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. Your trek starts along the Dudh Koshi River, following ancient trading paths used by Sherpa families for centuries.

You'll walk through Sherpa settlements decorated with bright prayer flags and cross your first suspension bridge. The trail winds through pine forests before opening up to spectacular views of Thamserku Peak's towering presence.

Reach Phakding, where you'll spend your first night surrounded by mountain silence.

  1. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
  2. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), Distance: 10-12 km, Duration: 6 hrs

The day brings several suspension bridge crossings and a climb that works your hiking muscles hard. After walking through Monjo village, you'll reach Sagarmatha National Park, where officers check permits and welcome trekkers.

The trail goes steeply uphill past the famous Hillary Bridge, named after one of the first men to climb Everest. This section tests your strength, but gives you great views of the valley below.

Good weather lets you spot Mount Everest's peak for the first time through distant ridges. The last part brings you up to Namche Bazaar, the busy Sherpa town built into the steep hillside.

You’ll arrive at this bustling mountain trading hub by late afternoon, where you’ll get to check into the cozy lodge. Tonight marks your first sleep above 3,000 meters in the heart of Sherpa city.

  1. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
  2. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 04: Acclimatization: Hike to Everest View Hotel, Distance: 3-4 km, Duration: 3-4 hrs

To help your body adjust to the thin mountain air, we'll trek up to the famous Everest View Hotel, sitting at the world's highest elevation for any lodge. The trail goes above Namche and passes the tiny Shyangboche. There, trekkers can view some of the big peaks such as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the stunning pyramid of Ama Dablam.

If you want to hike more, push on to Khumjung village, where Sir Edmund Hillary built his school for Sherpa children. The local monastery holds a curious treasure, which locals claim is an actual Yeti scalp.

After getting back in Namche by afternoon, you're free to wander the bustling market, shop handwoven scarves, or simply grab a coffee.

  1. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
  2. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860m), Distance: 11 km, Duration: 5-6 hrs

Leaving Namche Bazaar behind, you’ll trek down through thick rhododendron and pine forests to the rushing Dudh Koshi River. Then pause at Phunki Tenga for a well-earned lunch break.

A long uphill climb through dense pine forests brings us to Tengboche, where the region's most sacred monastery is located. Tengboche Monastery, also known locally as Dawa Choling Gompa, serves as the spiritual heart for Sherpa families.

From this spot, the massive peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam dominate the skyline in almost all directions. You can wander through the holy gompa and join the monks for their evening prayers while the setting sun turns the snow-capped summits into glowing gold and pink masterpieces.

  1. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
  2. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 06: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m). Distance: 11-12 km, Duration: 5 hrs.

The trail drops down to Deboche (3,820m), where another thrilling suspension bridge carries you across the churning Imja River. From historic Pangboche village, home to an ancient monastery, the path steadily rises beyond the treeline into pristine alpine country.

You'll encounter sacred sites along the way while walking beneath towering giants like the perfectly pyramid-shaped Ama Dablam. The scenery transforms dramatically as you enter this high mountain realm.

Dingboche sits between protective ridges, a small village where stone lodges are placed together against the mountain air. Mountains rise on every side, their peaks cutting sharp lines against the sky. Wind moves constantly through the valley, carrying the thin, cold breath of high altitude that tells you exactly where you are.

  1. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
  2. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 07: Acclimatization: Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m)

The morning calls for a climb up Nangkartshang Hill that'll test your legs and lungs in equal measure. The path goes upward with serious intent, and you'll feel your heart working harder.

When you finally reach the top, the world opens up around you. Mt. Makalu dominates the horizon, which is the world's fifth tallest peak, and this spot gives you the only clear shot at it on our whole trek. Cholatse and Island Peak frame the scene, while the Imja Valley spreads out below like nature's own ice highway carved between the peaks.

Your body's doing important work up here, too, getting used to thinner air before we push higher. It's a short hike, but it packs exactly what you need to prep for what's coming.

Then it's back down to Dingboche for lunch and the kind of rest that feels earned. Nothing quite like settling in with hot food and that satisfying tired feeling that comes from a good morning's work in the mountains.

  1. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
  2. Accommodation: Hotel

Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m), Distance: 11 km, Durations: 5 hrs.

After breakfast, we start the walk toward Thukla. The climb gets serious as you approach the pass, where something stops you in your tracks, rows of memorial stones built for climbers who didn't make it home from these mountains.

Beyond the pass, our route follows the edge of the mighty Khumbu Glacier toward Lobuche. This is where the landscape transforms completely into rocky debris from glacial movement.

Lobuche rewards the day's effort with something spectacular. As evening approaches, the surrounding peaks catch the last light and transform into glowing monuments of gold. From your lodge window, the Himalayas put on a show that no photograph can capture. It’s the kind of moment that stays with you long after you've returned to sea level.

  1. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
  2. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 09: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m), then return to Gorak Shep (5,164m), 14 km, 8 hrs

You’ll start with a hike to Gorak Shep, where you'll drop your overnight gear before going to the destination everyone's been talking about, Mount Everest Base Camp. The path cuts through some of the most beautiful terrain on earth, alongside the massive Khumbu Glacier.

Standing at Base Camp feels different from what you imagined. At 5,364 meters, you're literally at the doorstep of the world's tallest peak, surrounded by the beauty of the Khumbu Icefall. After that, you can capture shots with your teammates, guides, and the other trekkers who've made this same long journey.

The celebration feels earned. After the photos and the handshakes and the quiet moments of taking it all in, we head back to Gorak Shep for the night. Tonight you'll sleep knowing you've touched one of the most famous places in mountaineering.

  1. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
  2. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 10: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m), then fly via helicopter to Lukla and finally to Kathmandu

Your final mountain morning begins before dawn with the climb to Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters. This peak offers what many consider the finest view of the world's highest mountain. After soaking in, you'll descend to Gorakshep for a well-deserved breakfast.

The helicopter flight back to Lukla transforms your entire perspective on this landscape you've been walking through for days. After resting for a while in Lukla during the layover, you’ll catch another flight to Kathmandu.

Special Notice: We recommend adding a reserve day in Kathmandu after your trek. While your return is by helicopter, weather in the mountains can still cause delays. Having an extra day provides a safety cushion, allowing you to relax and enjoy Kathmandu before your international flight.

  1. Meals: Breakfast Included
  2. Accommodation: Hotel

Day 11: Farewell/Tour Ends

Your Himalayan journey wraps up with a comfortable ride to Tribhuvan International Airport. Our team makes sure you arrive with plenty of time, three hours before your international flight.

  • Amazing experience as a female solo traveler!

I had an amazing experience with Nepal Hiking Team! I was a bit nervous as a solo female traveler, but they made me feel very comfortable, and the guides (especially our main guide, Prakash!) were so competent, kind, and responsible. We had a delay in our flight to Lukla due to weather, so we took a helicopter ride, and Ganga (trekking company owner) provided proper documentation for an insurance claim. I really wanted to support a local company and felt that the groups weren't as large as those of other companies we passed by (in a good way!).

The other Nepal Hiking Team guides and groups we met along the trek were also really nice and had good vibes, which I think is a testament to this company as a whole. Prakash was so kind and organized and made our trek seamless, and always made sure to check in when a couple of us got some mild altitude sickness. I felt very safe and cared for the entire trek. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I definitely recommend picking this reputable local trekking company!

  • Paban, Suren, Suzan and the team took such good care of us

There are a lot of trekking companies out there, but the main reason I chose Nepal Hiking Team was because they were super responsive to all my questions right from the start. Their package was also fairly priced; it included hot showers in some teahouses, and they provided a down jacket and sleeping bag at no extra cost. That really helped.

From the moment I landed in Nepal, everything was smoothly organized. I didn’t have to worry about anything—just focus on hiking and enjoying the trip. Our guide, Paban, did an excellent job taking care of us and handling any unexpected situations. He was very patient, even when people in our group had different needs or paces. He made sure everyone felt supported.

There were 7 of us in the group, and aside from Paban, we also had a full assistant guide, Suren, and a half assistant guide, Suzan. It was such a good setup—there was always someone walking with us, whether we were going slow, medium, or fast. Paban kept the team spirit high and made the whole trek really fun. Suren gave us a steady pace to follow, and Suzan was always looking out for us, helping with bags when needed and even protecting us from yaks on the trail!

It was a great group, and I felt really safe the entire time. Big thanks and love to the whole team. I’ll definitely be back to trek with them again!

  • Incredible Experience to Everest with guide Deepak

We accomplished the trek to Everest Base Camp with our guide Deepak Dhakal, and porter Prem. For more adventure and an incredible experience, we added a night of camping at base camp, and it was an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend adding the camping option—it was absolutely worth the extra cost. Trekking in mid-September meant we had the entire base camp all to ourselves, making the experience even more special.

Deepak was a fantastic guide – friendly, funny, fluent in English, and someone we are now friends with. If we ever come back, we would love to work with him and Nepal Hiking Team again. Deepak's talent for photography gave us some stunning photos to cherish these incredible memories. Prem, our porter, was also wonderful. He always had a smile on his face and helped us all the way.

Ganga and the Nepal Hiking Team made the entire trip easy and seamless, they organized everything, including a stay at a lovely hotel during our time in Kathmandu.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Nepal Hiking Team for making our trip to Nepal a truly unique, special, and unforgettable experience. From the initial planning and contact, Ganga demonstrated exceptional professionalism and logistical expertise, taking care of every detail to ensure our journey was smooth and safe.

When there was a change in plans due to the closure of Lukla airport, he acted quickly to resolve the situation and adapt our itinerary to start the trek seamlessly.

During the challenging trek to Everest Base Camp, we constantly felt the support and dedication of every team member.

Everest Base Camp Heli Trek FAQs

Why Nepal Hiking Team

Most of our groups consist of around eight trekkers, with a maximum of ten. Your trek will definitely happen on the planned dates, even if you're the only person signed up. We can also set up private solo treks if you want something more personal.

Once you book, we confirm everything right away. The only time we might change plans is during earthquakes, bad storms, or political problems.

Solo trekkers are completely welcome. Even if nobody else books your dates, we'll still run the trek with full guide and porter support at solo prices. The care and service stays exactly the same whether traveling alone or with others.

Yes, we arrange private Everest Base Camp trek with a helicopter return in 11 days for families, friends, or individuals. For groups of two or more, we offer flexible scheduling and pacing tailored to your needs. You don’t have to worry about group size; we’ll make sure your party stays together. Solo travelers are also welcome on private trips, though an additional cost applies.

The key difference lies in how you return from the trek. The 12-day itinerary follows a helicopter return from Gorak Shep to Lukla. Then, the trekkers rest for a day in Lukla and catch a flight to Kathmandu the following day.

In contrast, the 11-day version includes a helicopter ride back from Gorakshep to Lukla and then to Kathmandu on the same day. There is no stay in Lukla in the Everest Base Camp Trek with a helicopter return in 11 days.

Moreover, in 11-day Everest Base Camp Heli itineraries, trekkers stay in 5-star hotels, whereas in the 12-day package, they stay in 3-star hotels.

Arrival in Nepal & Visa Process

Yes, most nationalities can get a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. To speed up the process, complete the online application in advance and bring either cash or a card for payment. Make sure your passport is valid for six months from your arrival date and has at least one page for the visa stamp.

For full details, please see our Nepal Visa Information page.

Yes, we pick up and drop off all trekkers doing the 11-day Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return. When your plane lands, a Nepal Hiking Team representative will be waiting outside the airport with our company sign.

At the end of your trip, we'll drive you to the airport about three hours before your flight takes off. If you come early or stay longer in Nepal, we'll change the pickup time to match your plans.

The Everest Base Camp Trek includes two nights at a 5-star hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu. These luxury accommodations are part of the full package, ensuring your journey begins and ends in comfort.

At the pre-trek meeting, you meet your guide, pay any money still owed, and give them your passport plus travel insurance copy. Your guide looks through all your gear to make sure nothing important is missing.

We give you important gear like a warm down jacket, sleeping bag, cap, duffel bag, and detailed trek map. This meeting is also a good time to ask questions or talk about anything that worries you as our team is there to help.

Booking, Deposit & Payment

Start by filling out the trip and traveler information form. Flight and insurance details can be provided later. Securing your booking requires a 20% deposit, after which your trip will be confirmed.

The remaining balance of Everest Base Camp Helio trek can be settled at arrival using either cash or card for your convenience.

The 20% deposit is non-refundable for cancellation for any reason, including injury, illness, or unforeseen events. However, we offer full credit with no expiry, allowing you to use the amount toward any future trip with us.

Transportation and Lukla Flights

You can fly straight to Lukla from Kathmandu during the quiet months. But in busy season (March-May and September-November), flights leave from Ramechhap Airport instead, which means a five-hour drive from Kathmandu.

To catch the early morning Ramechhap flight to Lukla, we leave Kathmandu around 1:00 or 2:00 AM. We'll tell you the exact time during your pre-trek meeting so everything goes smoothly.

If your trek is delayed or canceled, we can arrange a helicopter ride for an additional fee of $450 per person upon departure. If consensus isn’t reached, we will reschedule your flight for the following day.

Yes, helicopter flights from Kathmandu to Lukla are available at around USD 450 per person, one-way. Advance notice is required to arrange availability and confirm your booking.

Trek Difficulty: Who Can Trek?

The trek is rated moderate to strenuous because of the high altitude, rugged trails, and daily hikes of around 6 to 7 hours (10 to 11 kilometers per day). No prior trekking experience is required; you just need to be physically fit and active.

A steady pace is maintained to ensure safe acclimatization as you pass through Sagarmatha National Park.

The trek covers approximately 115 kilometers (72 miles). It includes the climb to Kala Patthar, which stands at 5,545 meters and offers breathtaking views of Mt. Everest.

The journey starts and ends in Lukla and passes through spots like Namche Bazaar, Everest View Hotel, Tengboche, Dingboche, Nangkartshang Hill, Lobuche, Gorak Shep, and Kala Patthar.

Trekker’s Well-Being & Safety

Yes, travel insurance is required. Make sure your policy covers high-altitude trekking up to 6,000 meters, emergency evacuation, and helicopter rescue.

We suggest choosing insurance from well-known companies like Genki Traveler, AXA, Allianz, or World Nomads.

To help you out, we have put together a list of trusted insurance providers based on what past trekkers have recommended.

Our Sherpa guides have many years of experience trekking at high altitudes. They carry first aid kits and oximeters to check your oxygen levels regularly so they can spot any signs of altitude sickness early.

The itinerary includes two days for acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche to help your body get used to the altitude. If anyone feels unwell, the guide will slow the pace, give extra rest, or help with a descent if needed.

We pick teahouses that are clean and trustworthy to make sure you stay comfortable. In serious emergencies, we arrange helicopter evacuations quickly.

These safety steps are part of every Everest Base Camp Heli Trek we run to keep you safe throughout your trip.

The ideal seasons for the Everest Base Camp Heli Trek are spring and autumn. During these months, the weather is stable, skies are clear, and trekking conditions in the Everest region are at their best.

Yes, you can trek during both summer and winter. In summer, there’s a chance flights may be canceled because of rain. In winter, the trails can be icy, slippery, and sometimes snow can block the path.

The good part is these seasons are less crowded. With the right preparation and gear, we make sure you can complete the trek safely any time of the year.

Vaccines are not mandatory to enter Nepal or take part in the Everest Base Camp Heli Trek. However, because stray dogs are common in Sherpa villages, you might want to consider a rabies vaccination. It’s best to speak with your doctor for advice tailored to your health.

We recommend trekking at a steady pace, drinking plenty of water, about 4 to 5 liters a day, and sticking to the acclimatization schedule. Eating a balanced diet and avoiding alcohol will also help your body adjust. Our itinerary includes rest days to support your acclimatization.

If you ever feel unwell, let your guide know immediately. They will regularly check your oxygen levels and watch for signs of altitude sickness. In serious cases, helicopter evacuation is available.

No worries! Our experienced guides are there to support you and help you cross suspension bridges if needed. After a few crossings, you’ll likely feel much more confident and comfortable.

Yes, the itinerary includes two acclimatization days, one in Namche Bazaar and another in Dingboche. These rest days give your body time to adjust to the altitude and help lower the risk of altitude sickness.

Trek Preparation and Gear Packing

Our porter will carry up to 25 kilograms of combined gear for every two trekkers. You only need to carry a personal daypack. Since your porter will usually be ahead, it’s best to keep essentials like your water bottle, phone, camera, and snacks with you until you reach your destination.

The standard luggage allowance for Lukla flights is 15 kilograms per person. If your baggage exceeds this limit, the airline may charge an excess fee or delay your bag to a later flight based on available space.

Yes, you can store your extra luggage in the hotel's safe locker in Kathmandu for free. You can collect your bags once you return from the mountains. This way, you can trek with only the essentials, making your Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return 11 days more convenient.

We supply a sleeping bag, a down jacket, and a duffel bag for the trek. Both the sleeping bag and jacket are specially made by Nepal Hiking Team and rated for temperatures as low as -15°C. You’ll also receive a detailed trek map, along with a complimentary Nepal Hiking Team T-shirt and cap.

Yes, upon completing the trek, you will receive a certificate recognizing your achievement and dedication.

Accommodation and Connectivity

We provide twin-sharing lodges that offer basic comforts such as proper beds, mattresses, and clean sheets. In lower villages like Lukla, Phakding, and Namche, you’ll find private bathrooms with hot showers. As you go higher, facilities become simpler with shared toilets and more basic rooms.

Yes, local SIM cards from NTC and Ncell are available in Kathmandu. On the trek, you can purchase data cards from Everest Link or Nepal Airlink at teahouses. Prices range from around USD 10–15 for 7–10 GB and USD 15–20 for 20 GB. This helps you connect with your friends, family, and work while on the trail.

Yes, most teahouses offer device charging for NPR 200–500 per device. Since solar power at higher altitudes depends on the weather, it’s a good idea to carry a power bank as a backup.

Overnight stays at Everest Base Camp are possible with a private booking for at least two people, at an additional cost of USD 450 per person. This includes tented accommodation arranged by our team. However, we generally do not recommend staying overnight there due to the high altitude and associated safety risks at 5,364 meters.

Yes, most teahouses in Lukla, Phakding, Namche, and along the trek have Western-style toilets. However, in higher elevations during winter, frozen pipes may require the use of squat toilets.

Our package includes twin-sharing rooms by default. If you prefer a private room, it’s available for an additional $250, subject to availability.

Meals and Drinking Water

Teahouses offer a range of cuisines including Nepali, Indian, Italian, and Chinese. You’ll also find desserts and cold drinks to suit your taste. All meals are freshly prepared to provide the energy needed for high-altitude trekking. Trekkers can choose food of their preference from the menu.

Yes, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available throughout the trek. If you have allergies or specific dietary needs, please inform us in advance. This allows us to coordinate with the lodges and ensure your requirements are met along the way.

Please inform your guide of any food allergies. They will make sure you receive meals that are safe and suitable for your needs.

You have several choices for drinking water on the trek. The best option is using spring water with the purification tablets your guide gives you, or bring a water filter bottle. Tea houses also sell boiled water if you need it.

Try to avoid buying bottled water. It costs much more than other options and creates plastic waste problems in the mountains.

Customization: Private vs Group (Tips & Cost)

Yes! We offer full customization for private trips, letting you adjust the pace, add rest days, and include sightseeing tours in Kathmandu. However, itinerary customization is not available for group treks.

Yes, we can arrange a day tour of Kathmandu either before or after your trek. You’ll visit some of the city’s holiest and UNESCO World Heritage sites. If you choose to extend your trip by more than a day, we’re happy to offer additional tours to Bhaktapur and Patan as well.

At the end of your trek in Lukla, you'll want to tip your guides and porters. The amount is completely your choice - some people give more, others less, depending on what they can afford and how happy they were with the service. Your guide and porter team will be grateful for whatever you decide to give them after all their hard work on the mountain.

Bring plenty of cash to cover mountain expenses like Wi-Fi, hot showers, charging your phone, and extra snacks. The ATMs in Lukla and Namche Bazaar break down frequently, so grab enough money from Kathmandu banks before heading into the mountains.
