Everest Base Camp Luxury Trekking Itinerary Overview
Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek starts the moment you land at Tribhuvan International Airport. After a rest day in Kathmandu, you'll catch the mountain flight to Lukla from Kathmandu directly or via Ramechhap during the busy spring and autumn seasons. This flight offers your first genuine glimpse of the peaks you'll be walking among.
Once you reach Lukla's famous airstrip, the walking begins straight away. The first day takes you down to the Dudh Koshi River and through small Sherpa villages to reach Monjo, where you'll spend your first night in a proper mountain lodge. From there, it's uphill through forests and across those swaying suspension bridges until you reach Namche Bazaar, the main trading post for the entire Khumbu region. This bustling Sherpa town, situated at 3,440 meters, serves as your first acclimatization stop.
The rest day in Namche includes a hike up to the Everest View Hotel, where you'll get your first proper glimpse of Everest. You'll also visit the Sherpa Cultural Museum and Photo Gallery, which gives you a real sense of how these mountain people have lived here for generations.
Next, the trail climbs toward Tengboche, where the biggest monastery in the region sits right underneath Ama Dablam. You'll continue to Deboche for the night, then on to Dingboche the following day. This village at 4,410 meters is where you take your second rest day, usually with a climb up Nangkartshang Peak. This is the only spot on the entire trek where you can see Mount Makalu, the world's fifth-highest mountain.
While heading to Lobuche, you’ll walk through a rocky and barren landscape left behind by ancient glaciers. From Lobuche, you’ll trek to Gorak Shep, your last sleeping spot before Base Camp itself. That same afternoon, you'll follow the rocky trail alongside the Khumbu Glacier to finally reach Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters. Standing there with the massive Khumbu Icefall hanging above you is something that stays with you forever. You can click pictures and celebrate this moment.
The next morning starts well before sunrise with the climb to Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters - the highest point of the Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge Trek. When that morning sun hits Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse, lighting them up like golden towers, you'll understand why people put themselves through this challenge.
After that incredible sunrise, it's all downhill back through the same villages: Pheriche, Pangboche, Tengboche, Namche, and finally, Monjo and Lukla. The mountain flight back to Kathmandu gives you time to process what you've just accomplished. On the last day, you’ll get to rest and shop before your international flight home.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Monjo (2835m), Distance: 10 km, Duration: 5 hours
The real adventure begins with your morning flight to Lukla, taking off from either Kathmandu's domestic terminal or Manthali Airport in Ramechhap. The departure point shifts with the seasons based on air traffic patterns.
Stepping off the plane in Lukla feels like crossing into another world; this is where your Everest Base Camp Luxury journey truly begins. The trail drops gently downhill toward Cheplung village, and if you look up at just the right moment, you'll spot Mount Khumbi Yul Lha. The Sherpa people consider this peak sacred, so sacred that no one has ever attempted to climb it.
By the time you reach Phakding, you'll be ready for lunch and a chance to catch your breath. The afternoon brings a steady uphill walk to Monjo, where a cozy lodge and a good night's sleep are waiting for you after your first real day on the trail.
Please Note: Lukla flights will be operated via Ramechhap/Manthali Airport from September to November and March to May due to air traffic congestion at TIA; Ramechap is 132 km from Kathmandu, requiring a 4-hour drive, with departure at 2:00 am. If you wish to avoid the drive, you can upgrade to a helicopter flight, which departs directly from Kathmandu.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Luxury Lodge
Day 04: Trek from Monjo to Namche (3,440m), Distance: 10 - 12 km, Duration: 6 hours
Your morning begins with stepping through the gates of Sagarmatha National Park. You’ll walk inside a UNESCO World Heritage Site that guards some of the planet's most breathtaking mountain country. The path takes you through Jorsalle, a small village where life moves at mountain pace and locals wave from their doorways.
Then you reach the famous Tenzing Hillary Bridge, the most photographed suspension bridge in the Himalayas. Walking across this swaying bridge over the rushing Dudh Kosi River has become a rite of passage for every trekker heading toward Everest. The climb that follows is steep and steady, which leads to Namche Bazaar, the beating heart of Sherpa culture in the Khumbu region.
Keep your eyes on the mountains as you hike today. If the weather cooperates and the clouds part at just the right moment, you might catch your first glimpse of Everest's summit pyramid rising above the surrounding ridges.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Luxury Lodge
Day 05: Acclimatization Day - Hike to Everest View Hotel (3880m), Distance: 3 - 4 km, Duration: 3-4 hours
Today you stay in Namche for acclimatization. Your body needs this rest day to adjust to the altitude, and this bustling Sherpa village has plenty to offer. Start with a hike up to the Everest View Hotel, the highest luxury hotel on Earth. The panoramic mountain views from here are absolutely spectacular.
If you're feeling energetic, continue to Khumjung village to visit Samten Chholing Gompa, the second-oldest monastery in the Everest region. The monks here proudly display what they believe is a preserved Yeti skull. The village sits beautifully beneath the sacred Khumbi Yul Lha Peak.
Back in Namche, visit the National Park Headquarters for more mountain views, then spend time at the Sherpa Culture Museum and photo gallery. The museum tells fascinating stories of Everest expeditions and gives you real insight into Sherpa culture and their incredible mountaineering heritage.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Luxury Lodge
Day 06: Trek from Namche to Deboche (3,820m) Distance: 9 - 10 km, Duration: 4 -5 hours
Today's walk takes you toward Deboche, passing through mountainside villages. Kyangjuma, Phungi Tenga, and Tengboche each have their own character. These stone houses have colorful prayer flags, locals tending their fields, and the constant backdrop of towering peaks.
Everest can be seen along with the large Lhotse and Nuptse. However, Ama Dablam steals your attention with its perfect pyramid shape. Kangtega and Thamserku round out this mountain that follows you down the trail.
Tengboche Monastery marks the day's most memorable stop. It is a spiritual center for everyone living in these valleys, and it's the biggest monastery in the Khumbu.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 07: Depart from Deboche and trek to Dingboche (4410m), Distance: 9 - 10 km, Duration: 5 - 6 hours
The morning walk leads you to Pangboche, home to Pal Rilbu Gompa, the oldest monastery anywhere in the Khumbu. This weathered stone building has sat here for hundreds of years, quietly overlooking the valley while generations of monks have come and gone.
Past Pangboche, the landscape changes dramatically. The Imja River roars alongside the trail, and you may spot Himalayan Tahr on the rocky slopes or massive yaks grazing in the thin alpine grass. These hardy creatures thrive where few animals can survive.
The path leads to small settlements like Somare and Orsho, just a few stone houses each. Finally, you reach Dingboche, your overnight stop in this increasingly wild high country.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 08: Acclimatization Day: Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5083m) and return to Dingboche
Your second rest day isn't really about resting. You’ll also climb to Nangkartshang Peak at 5,083 meters, and it's going to test your legs. This peak offers something unique on the entire Everest trek: a clear view of Mount Makalu, the fifth-tallest mountain on the planet.
Most trekkers never get to see this massive peak, but from up here, it dominates the eastern horizon alongside an incredible collection of giants. Ama Dablam, Lobuche, Lhotse, and Cholatse create a mountain theater that stretches as far as you can see.
The steep climb helps your body adapt to the thin air while your mind absorbs views that most people only see in photographs. It's a hard day's work, but the kind that reminds you exactly why you came to these mountains in the first place.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 09: Ascend from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m), Distance: 11-12 km, Duration: 5 hrs
Today's walk brings you to one of the most moving places on the entire trek, Thukla Pass, also called Dughla Pass.
Here, memorial plaques line the ridge, each one honoring climbers who gave their lives pursuing their Everest dreams. The silence here feels different, heavier, as you walk among these tributes to courage and determination.
Once you clear the pass, the view spreads out into grassland. You can tell you've reached the real high country where only the toughest vegetation exists. Everything feels stark as you trek across to Lobuche, where you'll spend the night.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp and Return to Gorakshep
Today's hike takes you on a gentle climb to the Khumbu Glacier. You'll make your way up to Gorakshep, drop off your gear, and then head out for the Everest Base Camp itself. It is the base of Mount Everest where climbing teams prepare and organize before heading up the mountain.
Don't let the modest elevation gain fool you, though. The path rolls up and down constantly, and at this altitude, even small climbs can leave you breathless.
However, it's all worth it when you reach base camp and see the famous Khumbu Icefall up close. It’s the same route that climbing teams use to start their Everest attempts. The glacier views alone make every step worthwhile.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 11: Morning hike to Kala Patthar(5,545m) and return to Gorakshep to Pheriche
You'll start early this morning with the climb up Kala Patthar, the finest spot to see Everest in all its glory. From up there, you get sweeping views of the whole range: Everest, Nuptse, Chagatse, Lhotse, and Pumori.
Once you've had your fill of the scenery (and grabbed plenty of photos), you'll head back down to Gorakshep to collect your things. Then you need to continue the descent through Lobuche on your way to Pheriche for the night.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 12: Trek back from Pheriche (4210m) to Namche, Distance: 14 - 15 km, Duration: 7 hours
You'll follow the Imja River today as the trail winds through Tengboche and drops down to Phungki Thanka. The path takes you past Kyangjuma before bringing you back into the bustling hub of Namche Bazaar.
Once you're back in Namche, you'll have time to wander around the village if you'd like. It's the perfect chance to explore the local market or try some of the regional specialties. On this day, you’ll get to simply enjoy being back in civilization after days in the high mountains.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Luxury Lodge
Day 13: Return from Namche to Lukla, Distance: 18 - 19 km, Duration: 7 hours
Today brings a long downhill trek with plenty of those swaying suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags. You’ll cross back and forth over the Dudh Koshi River.
You'll walk through familiar villages such as Monjo, Toktok, Phakding, Thado Koashigaon, and Chheplung. Throughout the way, you’ll be retracing your steps from the beginning of the journey.
When you finally arrive in Lukla, it's time to recall what you've just accomplished. You've completed the full Everest Base Camp trek, something worth celebrating after all those days on the trail.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Luxury Lodge
Day 14: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (or via Ramechhap)
You'll catch an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. However, during busy seasons (March through May and October to November), flights go through Ramechhap instead. The Ramechhap route actually gives you some beautiful views of Nepal's middle hills as a bonus.
Don't worry about any of the travel arrangements! Our team handles all the logistics and makes sure everything runs smoothly as you transition from mountain life back to the city. The flight gives you one last spectacular look at those massive peaks you've been trekking around through a bird’s eyes.
We'll get you settled back at your 5-star luxury hotel in Kathmandu. There, you can enjoy proper beds, hot showers, and all the high-quality amenities again after your high-altitude adventure. It's quite the contrast after weeks of mountain lodges!
Meals: Breakfast Included
Accommodation: Hotel
Day 15: Reserve day in Kathmandu
This extra day is your backup plan for Lukla's unpredictable weather and flight delays. Mountain flights get cancelled all the time, so having this buffer day means you won't miss your flight home if things are uncertain.
If you get back to Kathmandu on time, you've got a free day to relax and think about your trek. Most people spend it checking out temples around the city, buying gifts and souvenirs, or just relaxing at their hotel after all that walking.
If you want to do some sightseeing or visit cultural spots, just ask us. We can set up whatever you want for an extra cost.
Meals: Breakfast Included
Accommodation: Hotel
Day 16: Tour Ends
Your amazing mountain journey wraps up with a comfortable ride to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home. We'll make sure you get there about three hours before your departure to handle all the check-in stuff.
As you fly home, you're bringing back way more than just pictures and souvenirs. The memories and moments from this trip will stay with you for years to come. You should be proud of yourself for reaching Everest Base Camp.
If you decide you want another adventure, we're here to help. Whether you want to explore more of Nepal or try somewhere new like Bhutan or Tibet, just let us know when you're ready to start planning again.

Know Before You Go
Accommodation of the Everest Luxury Trek
Your luxury experience starts with two nights at a premium 5-star hotel in Kathmandu. It features spacious rooms with mountain views, world-class spa services, fine dining restaurants, and 24-hour room service.
After your trek, you'll return to the same high-end accommodation for two more nights to celebrate your achievement with hot baths, soft beds, and gourmet meals. This city's luxury provides the perfect bookends to your mountain adventure.
On the trail, you'll stay in carefully selected premium lodges in Lukla, Monjo, and Namche Bazaar. You’ll get private rooms with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms with hot showers, and dining areas where experienced mountain chefs prepare hearty meals.
For the higher-altitude sections, we've handpicked the finest available teahouses that offer clean, comfortable rooms and wholesome food. While mountain accommodations become simpler as you climb higher, each lodge maintains the cleanliness and comfort standards that make your trek both authentic and enjoyable.
Meals and Food of the Rugged Luxury Everest Trek
Your premium dining experience starts at Kathmandu's luxurious 5-star hotels with high-quality international cuisine and authentic Nepali specialties. These meals are prepared by award-winning chefs with 24-hour room service.
On the trail, you can choose your preferred meals from varied menus including Western favorites alongside local dishes such as sherpa stew and thukpa. These meals are prepared by skilled mountain chefs using fresh, premium organic ingredients to keep your energy levels high at altitude.
For drinking water, we suggest using fresh spring water treated with quality purification tablets that our guides give you, or you can carry a good filtered water bottle to make things easier. The teahouses also sell boiled water if you prefer that option, though we don't recommend buying bottled water since it costs more and creates plastic waste in these beautiful mountains.
Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Cost
The price of your Everest Base Camp luxury lodge package depends on several factors. These include trek duration, group size, accommodation level, and the premium services you want.
Your Everest holiday package includes experienced local guides who know every hidden spot in the region. We also handle all permits and arrange comfortable luxury lodges, quality meals, and reliable transport.
This comprehensive approach means you don't have to book individual services or deal with permit paperwork. We take care of everything so you can enjoy the mountains.
For personal costs during your rugged luxury Everest trek, bring 25,000 to 35,000 NPR in cash. This covers extra snacks at remote teahouses, refreshing drinks on the trail, and hot showers at higher camps. You can also buy unique handicrafts made by local craftsmen. Having this cash gives you the freedom to enjoy small luxuries and help local communities.
Best Seasons for Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek
Choosing the right time for your luxury Everest expedition can make all the difference in your mountain experience. Each season offers something unique for your Everest base camp luxury lodge trek, so here's what you can expect throughout the year.
Spring (March to May): This is the peak season for good reason and perfect for your best luxury Everest Base Camp trek. You'll enjoy mild weather, stunning rhododendron blooms painting the hillsides pink and red, and crystal-clear mountain views. Daytime temperatures stay comfortable between 5°C to 10°C (41°F to 50°F), though nights can drop to -10°C or lower. The trails are busy, but the weather is reliable, making it ideal for luxury Everest trekking.
Autumn (September to November): Many consider this the absolute best time for an Everest holiday package. You'll get brilliant blue skies, stable weather, and fantastic visibility of the peaks. It’s 10°C to 20°C during day, and nights can still hit -10°C or below. The post-monsoon air is incredibly clear, giving you those postcard-perfect mountain photos.
Winter (December to February): If you want a rugged luxury Everest trek with fewer crowds, winter might be your season. You'll have clearer views and a unique atmosphere, though some higher-altitude teahouses close down. Daytime temperatures reach around 5°C to 12°C, dropping to -10°C at night. It's definitely colder, but the solitude and pristine conditions can be magical.
Monsoon (June to August): This quieter season offers lush, green landscapes and direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla. However, your luxury Everest trekking package will face challenges like slippery trails and limited mountain visibility due to clouds. Daytime highs stay around 10°C, with nighttime lows around 5°C (41°F). It's less crowded but weather conditions can be unpredictable.
Difficulty of Everest Luxury Trekking
This luxury trek to Everest base camp falls into the moderately difficult category. You'll need good fitness levels to handle walking 6-7 hours daily across 10-11 kilometers for 11 straight days.
The 123-kilometer journey doesn't require any rope work or mountaineering experience. The altitude poses the greatest risk, with the trek reaching 5,545 meters at Kala Patthar, where oxygen levels drop to half of sea level.
Two strategic acclimatization days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche help your body adjust safely to elevations above 5,000 meters. Regular hikers with good cardiovascular health who can maintain steady pacing will find this adventure challenging yet achievable.

Rugged Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek
This was my second time in a row trek with the Nepal Hiking Team. My first experience was the EBC trek in April 2023.
This time was an incredible and demanding trek to Gokyo Ri and Renjo La pass. Fortunately, I enjoyed favorable weather conditions for most of the trip, and the views were absolutely stunning!
What an incredible experience! It’s not always about the destination but who you travel with. Rajesh, my guide, and Pradip, my porter, were truly exceptional. They were fantastic, ensuring my journey was both memorable and enjoyable. Their expertise, support, and cheerful nature made all the difference—they were incredibly friendly and took excellent care of me throughout the trek. We shared countless laughs, making the adventure even more delightful. I owe a big thank you to them!
Ganga, the CEO of the company, proved to be an excellent manager. My trip was seamlessly organized, thanks to him. The food, the tea houses, and my stay at the comfortable Hotel Everest View in Namche were all meticulously arranged. He also played a crucial role in securing the helicopter rides, which were possible only because of his intervention.
From landing in Kathmandu until leaving Nepal, I had the most fabulous trip of my lifetime!! Special thanks to Hari (trekking guide) for road assistance, as well as other remarkable staff members of the Nepal Hiking Team. Thank you very much to all of you for providing me the best services for the journey.
If you’re considering a Himalayan trek and want a trustworthy and highly recommended service, I wholeheartedly suggest the Nepal Hiking Team. They are reliable and truly the best in Nepal.
Overall, this trip has gifted me countless wonderful memories and a strong desire to return someday!

Luxury Everest Holiday Package
Our guide, Thakal, was just exceptional! His deep knowledge of the mountains and surrounding areas truly stood out. He led our group with expertise and care. I highly recommend him and the team!
A heads-up: Traveling through airports and getting to Lukla can be quite challenging due to unpredictable weather. It’s all part of the adventure, though!
While these delays are beyond the guiding company’s control, they did everything possible to manage the situation smoothly and keep things on track.
And Ganga? An absolute legend!

Best Luxury trek in Nepal - EBC Trip
The trip was very well organized—Ganga and Arjun went above and beyond to ensure we could fly out to Lukla, even with the flooding in Kathmandu just before our arrival. The lodging for the luxury package was excellent.
The team was highly professional and prioritized safety at every step. When my friend developed HAPE in Dingboche, Arjun and the team acted quickly, arranging for a helicopter evacuation despite the sun setting rapidly. Back in Kathmandu, they handled all the arrangements smoothly, even with the sudden change in plans.

Can I get a visa on arrival in Nepal?
Most travelers can obtain their visas directly at Tribhuvan International Airport upon arrival. You can fill out the online application beforehand and bring cash or a card to pay the visa fee. Make sure your passport remains valid for six months beyond your Nepal arrival date. You'll also need one empty page in your passport for the visa stamp.
Do you arrange airport pickup and drop-off services?

You need to look for our team member holding a "Nepal Hiking Team" sign outside the airport when you arrive. We'll get you to the airport three hours before your departure flight when your trek finishes.

Booking, Deposit & Payment
How do I book the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek? Do I need to pay a deposit?
Start your Everest Luxury Trek booking by filling out the trip form with your traveler information. You can add flight and insurance details at a later time if needed. Then, you need to pay a 20% deposit to lock in your spot. Once we receive your deposit, your trip gets confirmed and you're all set.
How and when can I pay my remaining balance?
You can pay the remaining balance in cash or by card when you arrive.
If I cancel my trek, will my deposit be refunded?
The 20% deposit cannot be refunded if you cancel your trip for any reason. This includes injury, illness, or unexpected situations. However, we care about our customers, that’s why we'll give you full credit with no expiration date. You can use this credit for any future trips with us.
Transportation and Lukla Flights
Do I get a direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and back?
Direct flights to Lukla only run during the low season. Peak months from March to May and September to November need a connection through Ramechhap Airport, which means a 5-hour drive first.
We usually leave Kathmandu between 1:00 and 2:00 AM to catch morning flights from Ramechhap to Lukla. You'll get the exact departure times during your pre-trek briefing, so you know what to expect.
Can I take a helicopter instead of flying via Ramechhap? I want to avoid the drive.
Yes, you can choose to upgrade to a shared helicopter ride between Kathmandu and Lukla. It costs about USD 450 per person one way, which is extra on top of your regular flight ticket. You will also need to pay for your guide’s seat.
This option saves you from the long and bumpy drive to Ramechhap by flying straight to Lukla. Just remember to book it ahead of time to make sure there’s space.
If the flight to Lukla gets canceled or delayed, what are the options?
If your flight to Lukla is canceled or delayed, you have two options. You can wait and fly the next morning, if the weather permits, which will use the reserve day planned at the end of the trek.
Alternatively, you can take a shared helicopter, which costs an additional USD 450 per person, plus the cost of a seat for your guide. This helps you maintain your original trekking schedule without adjustments.
Since Lukla flights depend entirely on clear weather and can be affected at any time of year, we’ve included one buffer day in Kathmandu to manage such situations smoothly.

Money Matters
