    During the peak seasons for the Everest Gokyo Lake Trek (March to May and September to November), all the Lukla flights will be operated from the Manthali Airport due to congestion at Tribhuvan Airport.

    Route Overview

    The 15-day Gokyo Lake Trek will begin after you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. Upon your arrival, you'll be greeted by our staff from Nepal Hiking Team.

    You'll begin the trip with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. This journey will take you across the old villages of the Khumbu region. The first town you'll be reaching is Namche Bazaar. You'll be having a rest day at this location, and a hike to Everest View Hotel will also be arranged for acclimatization purposes. Then, for the following hikes, you'll pass through the villages of Dole, Machhermo, and others.

    The most exciting day is the hike from Macchermo to Gokyo Lakes. You'll be mesmerized when you reach Gokyo and witness the serene waters yourself.

    Then you'll set off for a hike to the view of Gokyo Ri, situated at 5,360m high. From this viewpoint, you'll relish the panoramic ranges of Mt Everest, Cho Oy, Lhotse, Mahalangur Himal, and more. You'll also see the largest glacier, the Ngozumpa Glacier. After the hike, you'll return to the valley and have the rest of the day for yourself.

    With this, the descent begins from Gokyo to Dole, Namche Bazaar, and finally to Lukla. You'll catch a flight back to Kathmandu and prepare for your departure home with a bag full of memories.

    Best Time for the Gokyo Lake Trek

    The ideal time for the trek is during spring and autumn.

    The spring season lies in the month of March-May. The weather condition during this season is moderate, which will be an advantage for the hikers. You can enjoy your walk under clear skies and witness the splendid views of the peaks clearly.

    The next suitable season for hikers is autumn, i.e., September- November. This season is considered to be the most favorite season by all. The famous festival Dashain, Tihar, will also be around the corner this season; hence you can enjoy the warm weather and witness festivals.

    Difficulty Level

    Unlike other treks like the Everest Base Camp and Everest High Passes Trek, the Everest Gokyo Lake Trek is relatively easier. Well, the route does have steep uphill and downhill terrains, but with an experienced guide, you can complete the trek easily.

    One thing you need to be aware of is altitude sickness. Acute altitude sickness is a serious matter to be considered, and for this, the correct protocols should be followed. We would like to assure you that our trekking leaders are trained to help clients in matters of altitude sickness. They'll be arranging the acclimatization spots, checking your oxygen level every day, and also giving you instructions on the walking pace in those high-altitude areas.

    A quick tip for all trekkers preparing for the Everest Gokyo Lake Trek is that despite being easy, you need to exercise regularly and maintain good physical fitness for this trek.
