            REGARDING THE LUKLA FLIGHT

Please note that flights to and from Lukla operate via Ramechhap Airport during peak trekking seasons (late March to May and late September to November) due to heavy air traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. This requires a road transfer of approximately 132 km, taking about 5 hours.

For the flight to Lukla, we must depart from the hotel around 1:00 AM to reach Ramechhap on time. Your guide will accompany the group throughout this journey.

For the return flight from Lukla, there is no need for a night drive. You will spend the final night in Lukla, take a morning flight to Ramechhap, and then continue with a daytime drive back to Kathmandu.

During peak trekking seasons (spring and autumn), Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu can experience high traffic and congestion, leading to flight delays, especially for flights to and from Lukla. Due to weather or airport congestion, flights to and from Lukla can be cancelled, potentially extending the trek by a day or two.

If the return flight is on time, you can use the buffer day to enjoy sightseeing, shopping, or relaxing in Kathmandu.

            Meals: Breakfast included

As the trip has ended, we’ll now bid farewell to you as you travel back to your home country. Airport drop services will be provided.

            Meals: Breakfast included.

              Practical

Yes, you can see Mount Everest from several points along the Gokyo Lake Luxury Trek route. The first views of Everest appear as early as Namche Bazaar and from the Everest View Hotel, offering a spectacular panoramic view of the world’s highest Mountain, including other iconic peaks.

Lastly, you can experience the clearest and most expansive sights of Everest and other high Himalayan giants from the Gokyo RI summit.

You will be accommodated with 5-star hotels in Kathmandu, such as Yak and Yeti, as well as high-quality lodges at Lukla, Phakding, Namche, and the Everest View Hotel.  At more remote stops like Dole, Machhermo, and Gokyo, the best available lodges will be arranged.

Additionally, the trek is designed for a small group, ensuring personalized attention and a safe, comfortable experience led by an experienced guide.

It’s truly hard to pick only one, as the Gokyo Lakes trek is a feast for the eyes, with breathtaking views at every turn. Even though we had to highlight a few, one of the best viewpoints of this trek is Gokyo Ri, comprising a height of 5360m and offering magnificent views of four of the world's highest peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.

The Ngozumpa Glacier, which is below the 6th-highest mountain (Cho Oyu), is also a significant highlight. Another unforgettable moment comes with a sunrise view from the Everest View Hotel, the world’s highest luxury hotel.

From the village of Gokyo to the summit of Gokyo Ri, it takes roughly 2 – 3 hours. This hike involves an elevation gain of approximately 570m from Gokyo (4790m) to Gokyo Ri (5360). The descent back is usually much quicker, which, in total, for a round trip, takes between 4 to 6 hours on average.

The total trekking distance from Lukla to Gokyo Ri is approximately. 55 - 60 km (one way). Starting from Lukla, the trip begins with a steady descent to Phakding, followed by a gradual ascent to Namche Bazaar. Further acclimatizing with a short hike to the Everest View Hotel, the trail leads to Dole and then to Machhermo. Finally, trekkers will come to Gokyo Lakes, the final destination, before reaching Gokyo Ri.

              Weather and Temperature

We want your trekking experience to be fantastic. The Gokyo Lake Luxury Trek is best during the spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) seasons.

These months offer clear skies, stable weather, and the most stunning mountain views.

While winter trekking is possible, be prepared for freezing temperatures and frozen lakes.

During the summer/monsoon season (June-August), the trek becomes more challenging due to cloudy skies, frequent rainfall, and potential flight delays to and from Lukla.

For a more comfortable and enjoyable journey, we recommend trekking in spring or autumn.

The temperature at Gokyo, Nepal, can drop well below freezing, mainly during winter and autumn seasons; in the daytime, it can range between 4°C to 10°C while in night time it can drop to -20°C to -5°C.
