Balaram Thapa

Balaram Thapa is the Founder and CEO of Nepal Hiking Team, with more than two decades of direct experience in Nepal’s trekking industry. He began his career on the trail as a trekking helper and later worked as a guide across Nepal’s major regions.

He has led and managed treks in the Everest Region, Annapurna Region, Langtang Valley, Manaslu Region, Upper Mustang, and remote areas such as Dolpo and Kanchenjunga Region. His experience spans high-altitude trekking, logistics planning, safety management, and real-time decision-making in changing mountain conditions.

His early exposure to a high-risk situation during his first trek shaped his approach to safety and preparation, which remains central to every itinerary Nepal Hiking Team designs today.

Alongside field experience, he holds a degree in Travel and Tourism from Tribhuvan University, combining academic knowledge with practical expertise. He now oversees trip planning, operations, and client experience, ensuring each journey reflects real conditions on the ground.
