• Highly recommend Annapurna Circuit!

  We had the most amazing experience with our guide, Hari, and the Nepal Hiking Team. We completed 11 days of trekking the Annapurna Circuit with a group of 3.

  The circuit itself is very diverse, with very good infrastructure and beautiful views. The hiking team organized everything for us flawlessly, making it easy for us to just focus on the trekking and views. We also want to highlight the great flexibility of the company in adjusting our itinerary on short notice as we decided we wanted to add a few days to do Poon Hill.

  The best part was our guide, Hari Gurung, who was extremely attentive to all of our needs, is very funny, has a great personality, and is very experienced, with 39 years of experience trekking in the Himalayas. We were a bit worried about altitude sickness since it was our first time so high, but with the amazing care and recommendations from Hari, none of us got sick :) He also was able to give us interesting details about all the places we passed and the culture and history of the country, non-stop joking and laughing with us. He went above and beyond in every way possible, and he made the whole experience so enjoyable.

  Everyone we interacted with in the company was friendly, attentive, and respectful, including the boss, Ganga, our guide, Hari, and the two porters, Sunil and Namaraj.

• ABC Personalised Trek

  Two of us embarked on a 9-day trekking adventure with ABC in April 2024. The journey was nothing short of excellent, largely due to our guide Hari Gurung and porter Ganesh Sapkota.

  Initially, we had planned to undertake the trek independently, but we couldn't be more pleased that we chose to go with a guide. Hari was nothing less than a legend: he swiftly tailored our itinerary to suit our physical capabilities and interests—focusing on immersive local culture experiences, longer walks, and fewer tourists wherever possible. His intuition was spot on, and he seemed to have a magical knack for securing the best rooms in lodges, even during peak times. Our porter, Ganesh, made a monumental effort, especially on the day we pushed ourselves to cover 30 km. He was modest, kind, and incredibly hardworking.

  Do yourself a favor and specifically request Hari if you're planning a trek with the Nepal Hiking Team. He might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you find that you click, you’re in for an unforgettable journey. After all, he's been mastering this for no less than 37 years.

  I had an amazing trekking experience with Nepal Hiking Team on my first trek in Nepal, and I would love to return. In October 2024, I went with a group of three friends, all over 60. NHT was very organized, and the team members were professional, friendly, and welcoming. Communication during the preparations was excellent, with prompt email responses and helpful suggestions. We initially planned a 9-day Everest Base Camp trek but added a few days for acclimatization. Their expertise gave us confidence throughout the process.

  Upon arrival in Kathmandu, NHT picked us up at the airport and took us to a hotel in the Thamel Market district. The following morning, we had a meeting with their representative and our guide, Hari Gurung, to review our itinerary and supplies. Due to an unexpected snowfall of 2–3 feet at Gorakshep the previous week, we prepared for trekking in snow. Hari accompanied us to outfitters to purchase any additional supplies.

  The trek began early the next morning, with a 5:00 am pickup for our flight to Lukla. From then on, Hari managed all logistics, including accommodations, meals, and trekking arrangements. With years of experience guiding English-speaking trekkers, Hari shared his love for Nepal and the Himalayas with us daily.

  Our porters, Sunil Tamang and Maitaram Tamang, played an essential role in carrying our 15 kg duffle bags with clothing and supplies, while we carried smaller backpacks with rain gear, snacks, and water. Their hard work, carrying two duffle bags each, was impressive, and we deeply appreciated their efforts.

  Having a guide made the trek smoother in countless ways. Hari shared insights about the Sherpa culture as we passed through villages, guided us on trails shared with pack animals, encouraged us over suspension bridges, named the mountain peaks, set a steady pace, and ensured we took sufficient rest breaks. At the tea houses, Hari took care of everything, from taking food orders to addressing any other needs we had.

  At higher altitudes, Hari remained attentive to our condition and was always positive, patient, and supportive. Reaching Everest Base Camp on a sunny, clear day was an unforgettable moment and made every step of the journey worthwhile.
