My wife, our eight-year-old son, and I did the Everest Base Camp Trek with Nepal Hiking Team in April 2025. Right from our first contact, Nepal Hiking Team was very quick to respond and planned a private trip customized especially for us, keeping in mind our son's age. Things only got better when Hari Gurung, our guide, picked us up at the airport.
During the 12-day trek, Hari became like family. He genuinely cared that we safely reached Base Camp and back, always making sure we had a great time along the way. Hari understood exactly when to push us forward and when we needed rest. He gave us practical tips on acclimatizing to high altitude, spent lots of time holding our son’s hand, and explained the route clearly to him, showing interesting plants and animals along the way. Hari also had excellent knowledge of the local culture, making it enjoyable and educational for us.
The trek was definitely challenging and tough, but we feel incredibly proud of making it to EBC. We honestly couldn’t have done it without Nepal Hiking Team, our guide Hari, and our porters, Prashant and Aarush. We wholeheartedly recommend them and can’t wait to return to Nepal again soon, especially to trek more with Nepal Hiking Team and Hari!
