Trip Overview

The Everest Gokyo Lake Trek is one of the most beautiful journeys in Nepal. It takes place in the Khumbu region. In the first place, you can enjoy the beauty of the Himalayas. In the second, you can also enjoy the holy lakes of Gokyo. Not only is the trip unforgettable, but it is also very rich in culture. Together with the natural beauty, you can enjoy the Sherpa culture. Khumbu is a prime Sherpa settlement. In contrast to the regular Everest Base Camp Trek, the Everest Gokyo Lake Trek is even more beautiful!

Furthermore, you can revel in the beautiful river valleys of the region. In addition, you will visit the beautiful Gokyo Lake. Hindu people hold the Gokyo Lake in high religious regard. In like manner, Hindu people believe that the Gokyo Lake is the abode of the Snake Gods- the Nagas. Identically, the Everest Gokyo Lake Trek is a perfect alternative for trekking in Khumbu.

You can see beautiful mountain peaks like Cho Oyu, Makalu, Everest, Lhotse, and many more.

The Everest Gokyo Lake Trek avoids the regular trekking trail. Correspondingly, it alternates between taking you through a less-traveled route. You can experience the Sherpa culture all along the journey. Mani stone walls and small chortens with prayer flags are constantly present along the journey.

Moreover, you will also visit the Gokyo RI. It is particularly famous for being a natural vantage point besides Kalapatthar. You can see amazing panoramic views of the Everest massif from Gokyo, RI.

Andreas Wuest, Germany One of the best treks I’ve done, the Gokyo Lake Trek really is a more scenic trek than base camp trekking. The trek was done right at the first week of March and the weather was amazing. I arrived late at night and was met by the agency’s managing director- Mr. Ganga, and he also helped me get checked in. The next day consisted of a tour of the Kathmandu city, and a flight to Lukla officially began the trek. It is my first time trekking at a moderately difficult terrain and my mention of this also made my guide- Ram Hari, be concerned for me. He was very helpful and a great company to be around. At all the places, Ram Hari told me facts and showed me amazing locations. He was also the first to arrange everything at the guesthouses too- the food, the room and all else. Places like Namche, Machhermo and the Gokyo Lake itself were so beautiful. The trek was refreshing and inspiring. It is my advice to everyone to do treks in Nepal at least once because it is certainly worth it. Nepal Hiking Team was the best with services and arrangements. All was left on them to arrange and take care of, and that allowed me to not be worried about anything, leaving me to enjoy the trek in peace. Really like NHT’s way of doing things and their care for their customers. Would definitely give Nepal Hiking Team a full grade!
Hareth Alsaadi, Phillipines I went for Everest base camp trip by mid-Dec 2021. I was a little worried as I never went trekking in my entire life.. however, i did a lot of research and came across Nepal Hiking Team so I decided after much thought to go with them Initially, I was in contact with Ganga the CEO of the company... i was highly satisfied with his interaction and communication with me right from the beginning.. i had so many questions and concerns regarding the trip and he was able to guide me and answer me all my inquiries... the on-boarding process was smooth and easy.. when i arrived in Nepal I found everything ready starting from the person picking me up from the airport, the hotel, some equipment for the trek, full introductory meeting on what to expect from the journey, all ground transportation, and even before i left Nepal after the trek.. a PCR staff was provided and came to my hotel... As for my trekking guide Prakash. i am truly happy that i had him as my guide.. a very spectacular human being.. he was more than a guide.. he was a great companion as well.. he ensured that i was having a good time.. continuously shared his expertise of mountains, Sherpa people, and Nepalese culture.. he always went the extra mile to support me... even at days when it was tough for me to continue due to altitude sickness.. he encouraged me and inspired me not to give up on this lifetime journey.. he always puts health and safety first.. Despite all the challenges of Everest Base Camp trek.. but i am very glad i did it... and i did it with an excellent group of people.. Nepal Hiking Team.. i highly recommend them for anyone intends to go trekking in Nepal. Read this review on trip advisor (click here)
Peter, United States of America My friend and I recently spent 2 weeks in Nepal, guided by the Nepal Hiking Team. Our original trek was canceled by an international company,  and the Nepal Hiking Team stepped in flawlessly. Ganga answered all of our questions, had our safety as his top concern always, was flexible, and was gracious with his hospitality. From Kathmandu, Pokhara, to the various tea villages, all the way to ABC, our Nepal Hiking Team was phenomenal. Our guide Arjun and porter Prem were first class, helping us navigate and learn about the terrain, giving us sage advice, and also making sure we had a great time (thanks for the wine!). I felt truly connected with them and it was hard to leave! A massive thank you to the entire team. Let's summit one of those monsters together soon!
William Belue, USA Nepal Hiking was incredible starting with the airport pick up all the way to drop off at the end of the trip. I had a scenario in which the airline lost my luggage and NHT arrange for my boots to be delivered via helicopter. This alone speaks to the level of care they provide their clients. Our guide, Bal, was one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve had the opportunity to meet and his attention to detail truly made this experience for me. The accommodations, food, gear, etc all blew my expectations out of the water. If you are looking for a guided Nepal experience, please look no further. I met other trekkers along my journey who were paying more and receiving less. This trip was a surprise birthday present and I am already planning my next trip back. Ahmed, USA Joined recently for an Everest Base Camp tour and it was simply spectacular! The team was well equipped with all logistics and planning and Ganga did a fantastic job with communication before and during the trip too. As for the trip itself, it far exceeded expectations as we got lucky with great clear weather and really enjoying our hiking. Our tour guide Bal was excellent as he had a lot of previous experience, very knowledgeable, friendly, and a fun person. The accommodations and food were good too. Overall I would highly recommend Nepal Hiking Team to others. Note: Read this review on Tripadvisor (Click here)
