We strongly recommend that all trekkers have travel insurance that includes emergency helicopter evacuation and medical coverage up to 6,000 meters. While it’s not mandatory, it’s one of the most important ways to protect yourself from unexpected expenses in case of accidents, altitude sickness, or evacuation needs.
The Himalayas are breathtaking but remote. If anything goes wrong at high altitude—whether it’s a health issue or an injury—helicopter rescue is often the only option. That’s why your policy must cover air evacuation, medical care, hospital treatment, and trip cancellations. Before booking your trek with us, please double-check your policy to confirm these benefits are included.
Most of our treks reach elevations between 3,500 and 5,600 meters. However, the maximum altitude depends on your specific route, so be sure your insurance covers the highest point on your itinerary.
We do not sell or provide travel insurance. You’ll need to purchase a policy yourself, and we advise doing so well in advance of your trip.
