Mr. Thakkal Gurung

Thakkal Gurung hails from Gorkha District in Manaslu Region. Born and brought up close to the mountains, Thakkal loves being in the mountains close to nature.

He turned his passion into his profession after he completed his training and received his trekking guide license. He has been working as a professional trekking guide after obtaining his license.

Thakkal has been guiding trekkers to the Manaslu, Langtang. Annapurna and Everest regions, introducing them to the local culture and helping them get a memorable experience. He has been part of NHT's team since 2021.

    A heads-up: Traveling through airports and getting to Lukla can be quite challenging due to unpredictable weather. It’s all part of the adventure, though!

    While these delays are beyond the guiding company’s control, they did everything possible to manage the situation smoothly and keep things on track.

  • Annapurna Circuit 14 day

    I did the 14 day Annapurna Circuit trek with Nepal hiking team. Our guide Thakal was professional, knowledgeable, patient and kind, I felt safe and taken care of throughout our trek. Our porter Bipin was also excellent with a constant positive attitude and great sense of humor. I would highly recommend both Thakal and Bipin if you are booking with Nepal Hiking Team! Ganga was also very responsive and made booking and altering plans very easy.
