The regional airport transfers were seamless and my excellent trekking guide, Pemba Tamang, met me there. We began our Everest Base Camp Trek immediately.
Everything on the trek was going according to plan until the deadly Mount Everest avalanche on April 18th derailed my aspirations to cross some of the higher mountain passes. Despite this setback, the Nepal Hiking Team and I revamped my itinerary to include a visit to the jungles of Chitwan National Park. The company's flexibility and understanding of my situation ensured I still had a very memorable time in Nepal.
