Retracing the off-beaten trails of Khopra
22nd February 2023: Khopra Region Trek
The Khopra Trek lies in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Describing the beauty of the Annapurna Region in words is not enough. One must visit the region and witness the majestic beauty with its own eyes.
Mr. Balaram Thapa, along with six enthusiastic guides, set off on 15th February to re-visit the trails of the Annapurna region. According to the team, the trek is perfect for beginners who want to get the most out of the Annapurna region in a short time frame. In just nine days, one can walk along the trails of this region and enjoy the serenity in the off-the-beaten trails.

The main objective of this visit was to check out the essential parts of the trek, like accommodations and meals.
Mr. Thapa said, “ The trek was a fruitful one. I believe that refreshment is a must for our guides. Hence we planned the trek and set off to re-visit the Annapurna region”. The trek is primarily a 9-day trek. However, the team planned a two-days camp and completed the trek in 4 days.

On the first day, they packed their bags, got on a jeep, and drove to Pokhara. The next day, they drove to Ghandruk and started the hike to Tadapani and then Dobato. Early morning, the team of 7 witnessed the wondrous view like no other from Munde View Point. The peaks of Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre, and Hiunchuli are clearly visible from the point. After the morning view, they started the hike again to Bayali Kharka, Chhistbung, and then Khopra. After resting in Chistibung, they hiked downhill to Swanta, Phalate, and then uphill to Pulbari. The team of Nepal Hiking Team ended the last day by walking from Mohara Danda, Banthali, and then to Tikhedhunga, ending in Pokhara.

Mr. Thapa commented on the state of lodges, “ There were basic accommodations all along the trek route. In Dobato, we noticed that there was a problem with the water supply. Besides Dobato, all other places had a good supply of water. Moving on to meals, the menu is well-maintained and has sufficient choices in them”, says Mr. Thapa.
When asked about the description of the Khopra Trek, Mr. Thapa put forward his word and said, “ Khopra Trek is a hidden gem. Speaking as a fellow enthusiastic trekker, I would like to recommend this trek to all my fellow friends and guests. It is indeed a must to include on your bucket-list”.
