Trip Overview

Volunteer as you trek is a newly designed package after the deteriorating 7.8 Richter scale earthquake in Nepal. The destruction caused by the earthquake was massive. Many of them lost their lives, their loved ones and their homes. The feeling of being homeless, the feeling of letting oneself see their hard earned money of lifetime turned into mud and dust; nothing could have been more painful!

If you care for them, then just come visit Nepal and taste the wonders of nature along with a volunteering attempt to help the earthquake victims! Your visit to Nepal will also be an effort to prosper the tourism industry in Nepal after the destructive earthquake. This trek includes the Ghorepani poon Hill Trek along with your visit to the earthquake affected areas.

We initiate our journey from the capital city of Nepal – Kathmandu to the country side earthquake affected area where you will investigate the life of people and support them. We help their rebuild their houses and contribute to their grief however we can. Exploring and volunteering the affected areas, we move head towards Pokhara. Pokhara is the most happening place in Nepal. Embedded with the azure lakes, this valley possesses all the beauty of nature. From rivers, waterfalls, valleys, lush hills, forests to mountains, you can enjoy every aspect of nature here.

As we reach Pokhara, we drive to Nayapul and start our trekking journey. We pass ethnic settlement villages, walk through dense rhododendron and fir forests to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is best known for its mountain views. As we reach Ghorepani, we will be welcomed by the awe inspiring views of mountains like Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Macchapucchre and many more. Poon Hill is a vantage point in the region famous for its glorious sunrise and sunset views from amongst the towering vistas of Annapurna.

Merge into the beauty of beautiful Nepal and help the earthquake victims! Volunteer as You Trek helps you to act benevolent and inspire living as you enjoy the beauty of Himalayas!

Ahmed, USA Joined recently for an Everest Base Camp tour and it was simply spectacular! The team was well equipped with all logistics and planning and Ganga did a fantastic job with communication before and during the trip too. As for the trip itself, it far exceeded expectations as we got lucky with great clear weather and really enjoying our hiking. Our tour guide Bal was excellent as he had a lot of previous experience, very knowledgeable, friendly, and a fun person. The accommodations and food were good too. Overall I would highly recommend Nepal Hiking Team to others. Note: Read this review on Tripadvisor (Click here)
Dave, USA Had a truly great time in the mountains with the Nepal Hiking Team. Arrived from the Pacific Northwest with my boomer mom to trek to Everest Base Camp. (Made it.) Our group included four other ladies who’d met in college and were reconnecting. Was tough going at times but the NHT crew led us well. Our guides and porters were professional, kind, generous, and attentive. Their work was difficult—carrying our extra stuff, monitoring our conditions as we gained altitude, maintaining morale if/when it flagged, teaching us about Nepali and Sherpa culture, and showing us the way—and they all performed legendarily. Ganga and Raj put a lot of thought into making our trek enjoyable. They took great care of my mom and were very proactive with those who faced any altitude-related issues. I’m no world traveler or experienced backpacker, but this trip felt particularly fun and special. It awakened in me a far greater curiosity for travel. The mountain experience—organized by Ganga and led by Raj and his team of guides and porters—will be a cherished memory. Our NHT crew were all good people. I enjoyed their company and guidance immensely. We fly home this evening from Kathmandu and I’m already excited to return with friends, family, or solo. I look forward to trekking with NHT, Ganga, and Raj again. Read this review on Tripadvisor.
Robert, USA Our experience in the Himalayas has been wonderful. Our tour began on Lukla, and we travelled through great places, all the way into Everest Base Camp (5346m)... later a climb to Kala Patthar at (5455m) provided the best view to the TOP OF THE WORLD... wow. The mountains were amazing, never have I seen in my life. Thinking yourself walking in a narrow path with cliffs on either side.. Seeing a new culture, experiences unknown, and the way of life of the Sherpa community was astonishing. Seeing at the distance, way high in the mountain... and knowing that you will pass in that road. Seeing how the climate and the vegetation changes. Those magic moments where at a glimpses you suddenly see mount Everest. Guesthouses are of every sort and provide some comfort at high altitudes anyhow the way you see it is only an experience. My guide Bim took me through awesome places... fantastic views. he was always attentive to every need, was looking to my health, my food, and what and where we slept. Any request was promptly handled. The people from Nepal Hiking Team are the best. From the moment I arrived Kathmandu to the moment I have left they have taken all great care of us. Everything they have promised has been full filled and even more... they go the extra mile. They are very attentive and have kept all their promises.
David Bristow, Manchester, United Kingdom From the first contact I was really impressed with NHT and Ganga. Every question I had was answered within hours. I decided on a private trip to give a bit more flexibility. I was glad I did that as during the trip I wanted to make a few changes like trek to Monjo on the first day therefore making day 2 a lot easier (which I can hugely recommend for anyone on one of the earlier flights). I also wanted to climb Kala Patthar during the day to get (in my opinion) the much better view of Everest with the sun shining on it and the valley rather than behind it. That meant not enough time to go to pheriche that same day but no problem, we went back to Lobuche and stayed there. All changes were done with no problems. Even a flight change. Prakash and Baghi (guide and Porter) were just brilliant. To be honest they became companions rather than guides. They always ensured everything went smoothly and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for better people to do the trek with. Anyone looking to book trek in Nepal should look no further than here. They are faultless. PS. Read this review on tripadvisor (Click Here)
Max Sørensen, Denmark We can only recommend Nepal Hiking Team (NHT) - thank you for an amazing trek. A group of 7 friends planned this trip for 2 years (2019-2020) and postponed it 3 times due to COVID19 restrictions - and in October 2021 we finally got to go. NHT has since the first contact responded very well and very fast to all questions including providing reference from earlier clients. When we had to postpone the trip Ganga - the managing director - advised us that our deposit would of course still be valid for the trip whenever the timing was workable. 18 months later (this October) when we could finally go, NHT delivered completely as planned - from the pick up in the airport, hotel in Kathmandu, flights to Lukla etc. We unfortunately got delayed 24 hrs into Lukla (yes.... bad weather :-)) - but NHT handled this impeccable with rebooking etc. And a big THANK YOU to our two guides Raam (lead guide) and Denise - the were handling things with a smile - being extremely service minded and with a good sense of humor - and yet we always felt very safe with them on the trail or crossing passes. They also managed our nice group of Porters and the Teahouse bookings very well (quite a few of them had only few visitors over the last couple of years) incl. food and drinks on the way. The heli-lift from Gorakshep to Lukla also went completely as planned. So an absolute top rating for being very credible, safe and delivering as agreed. So an absolute 5 star rating from our group.
