Trip Overview

The Tamang Heritage Trail is an excellent exploration of culture with the adoration of beautiful mountain views in the Langtang Region of Nepal. You would be subjected to exploring the idiosyncratic traditions and cultures of the Tamang people and will observe their day to day life at the isolated region of Langtang. Albeit taking place in the Langtang Region, trudging through the Langtang National Park is not included in this package. Rather than the park, you would be journeying to the other side of the river towards the Tibetan border of Nepal. You would be passing many dainty settlements and Tamang villages like Gatlang, Goljung, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim on the trekking journey. It presents you a wonderful opportunity to experience the unique customs of the people and will help you gain knowledge about these ethnic groups. The people residing in those villages have the perseverance of their cultures and traditions intact and their unique rituals and practices are reflected beautifully in the many monasteries, gumbas, chaityas and Bihars that line the trekking trail. The houses on the villages are ornamented opulently with intricate carvings; the people weave baskets and have a wide array of handicrafts on pristine display throughout. In the evening, the people tend to dance and sing folk songs with unique dialects and the people dress up in traditional clothing. Everything about the villages is charming and reflects delightful quintessence. As the trekking trail is relatively a newly opened journey, the cultures and customs of the people have remained true to their origins.

Trekking along the path of the Tamang Heritage Trail, you would be presented with quite a jovial experience. The vibrant colorful clothes and traditional dresses worn by the people, the intricately ornamented houses with fascinating craftworks along with magnificent views of the mountains in the serenity of the verdantly lush environment present a beautiful picturesque paradise. If you are willing to explore the cultural aspects of Nepal and the pristine environment along with mountain views, then the Tamang Heritage Trail package is definitely the one for you. An encounter with the monasteries along the way reflects the Tibetan Buddhist culture prevalent in the area. As you excurse along the lavishly decorated monasteries and gumbas, you would also be blessed with sights of beautiful natural environments adorned with the florescent blooms of rhododendron flowers.

The Tamang Heritage Trail allows you excursion along the trail that passes sceneries of cerulean lakes like the Parvathi Kunda, Dudh Kunda and Bhairav Kunda, their crystal waters reflecting the shimmer of the sun. With majestic views of mountains like Jugal and Ganesh Himal peaks, you would be trudging through beguiling quiddities of the Langtang Region. The pleasing and unadulterated atmosphere of the Tamang Heritage Trail is aesthetically pleasing to the soul.

We also have alternate trekking packages for trekking in the Langtang region, like our Langtang Valley Trek which lets you explore the ravishing beauty of the Langtang Valley. Our Langtang Gosainkunda Trek takes you to the holy cyan lake of Gosainkunda in the mountains. So come join Neal Hiking Team in this wonderful journey to explore and discover the heritages of the Tamang people in the Langtang Region with the Tamang Heritage Trail package.

Mike, USA I went with my girlfriend to the Everest Base Camp with a guide and porter from Nepal Hiking Team. Right from the pick-up from the airport, we felt like valued clients, and we were made to feel very welcome and relaxed in an otherwise hectic city. From the moment the trek started, our guide Bheg ensured we were comfortable and constantly checked on our physical state throughout each day and provided advice and assistance where we needed it. Overall, the experience was one I'll never forget, primarily because I proposed at the top and because the Nepal Hiking team made the experience as stress-free and as organized as possible, all with a smile on their face at all times. I highly recommend NHT.
Megan Y., China Ganga, Balaram, and the team were fantastic; even when we had a 24-hour flight delay, they re-scheduled everything without fuss or fee. We had an excellent driver for just us (and guide where we had them). We even changed things along the way, and whether the driver, guide, or agent, they were more than willing to help and be flexible. :) The trip took in some hiking, some sightseeing, some relaxing, the jungle, and for each occasion and location, we were provided a specialist guide for the event/location. The hotels they chose for us were precisely our requirements based on the activity we were experiencing on any given day. Balaram even met us many times in person to round off the experience and ensure all was well and take honest feedback in person - the personal touch makes you feel even more appreciated and welcome as a customer. We would recommend anyone contact the team if they are planning a trip to Nepal. Thank you, guys, for a memorable vacation.
Jonathan, USA The team NHT provided the best possible service. They were attentive in every aspect in the months leading up to the trek through emails and were responsive and thorough in addressing my questions and concerns. During our tour, Bheg (our guide) and our porter were there to take care of our (myself and one other trekker) needs and always smile and graciously. I have used other more expensive and well-known trekking teams in the Himalayas in the past and would rank NHT on an equal or higher plain. Bheg has many years of experience, as did our porter, and was very competent in their roles and Bheg in his knowledge of the area and the trek. Though our porter did not speak very much, Bheg was kind enough to translate when asked, and our porter was equally attentive in assisting Bheg and us to ensure a successful trek. Very competitive price and an excellent team and experience. I highly recommend them.
Marcello, Brazil Nepal is one of the places in the world everybody MUST go. I've been to Nepal 3 times in just five years. Living in Brazil, so far away from Nepal, I wouldn't travel so much to the country had I not enjoyed the place very much. It's the best place in the world for trekking, and the people are amazing, the food is delicious, and the views of the Himalayas are gorgeous. I book my tours with Nepal Hiking Team, which is a reliable company. The first time I visited Nepal, I booked my trek to Annapurna Base Camp and an overland tour to Tibet. Everything was previously arranged. Nothing to worry about. They applied for the permits, put me in a group (we are requested to join a group to enter Tibet), and booked a perfect hotel in Kathmandu. One month ago, I traveled to Nepal to trek the Annapurna Circuit and the Nar-Phu trek. For the second time, I booked my tour with Nepal Hiking Team. I went trekking in a very remote area with scenic spots and charming villages. In the middle of the trek, I began to feel a little uncomfortable by the cold weather, and my left foot was in pain, so I had to finish my hike earlier than expected. I told my guide I was not feeling good, and then Nepal Hiking Team gave me all support I needed on my way back to Kathmandu. NHT care of everything, so you can enjoy your trek with no worries. From the moment you are picked up at the airport to the moment you leave the country, you are in good hands. Their representatives will greet you at the airport, and you'll soon be briefed on everything about the trek you are going to enjoy. Guides from the Nepal Hiking Team are helpful and speak excellent English. I especially recommend Raj, a friendly guide, and Lalman if you want to request a Porter. Both do an outstanding job. So, if you're going to have a great time in Nepal, be sure to choose Nepal Hiking Team as your local travel agency from beginning to end. It's a reliable company, and I recommend it.
Sara, sweden We went on Everest Base Camp trek with Gokyo Lake back in March of 2019. When I first contact NHT, they were so nice enough to have an hour long chat on what’s app arranging a trip for us for late autumn of that year. However, due to personal reason, we decided to go on a trip earlier than the planned date. NHT had only few weeks to make all the preparations. But they managed everything smoothly. From our hotel reservation to flight tickets and guesthouse on the trek, everything was planned out carefully. We were thoroughly impressed with how they organized everything in a short notice. Ganga, was very polite and always accessible to have chat whenever we were on the trek. From the beginning to the end of our trek, Ganga made sure everything was Ok with us. Also, we cannot forget Bhim our guide on the trek. He made us laugh all through the journey. He is very skilled and has lots of knowledge about mountains and about the people and culture. Because of him and his good network of people, we were able to enjoy the local experience of the Everest region. Also, our porter, who spoke who very took good care of us. Whenever, we stopped on the trek, he always asking if our bag were heavy on us. Everything went well on the trek because of these two amazing people. If our friends or relatives ever decide to visit Nepal, we will strongly recommend them to go with NHT and to choose Bhim. I am forever grateful towards everyone involved in organizing our trek. We completely enjoyed our trek and had exceptionally wonderful time in the Himalayas. These people are professional and know what they are doing. So if anyone is looking for a reliable and a good travel agency in Nepal, they should not hesitate to go with Nepal Hiking Team. They really are the best!
