Best time for Short Annapurna Trek

As this is a short trekking journey and takes place at a comfortable height, Short Annapurna Trek is doable all year round. Hence, there is no restriction of time. Whenever time suits you, one can sign up for this trek. However, it would be spring and autumn if you wish to do Short Annapurna Trek during its best times. These two seasons generally are the best time for all treks in Nepal. Thus, there is no doubt why it wouldn’t be an ideal time. Spring in Nepal is from March to April, and it is a post-winter season; mornings and nights still remain chilly with winter air. However, daytime is the loveliest because the weather is pleasant for trekking purposes. Likewise, it is flower blooming time, and the foothills of Annapurna are covered with rhododendron blooms. The red and pink shades of rhododendron flower make the setting gorgeous and genuinely fabulous. Similarly, the mountain scenery is quite vibrant at this time.

On the other hand, autumn, which falls from September to November, offers excellent weather and ambiance for this trek. It is the post-monsoon/summer season; thus, there is freshness and clarity in the environment. Similarly, the weather is perfectly mild and comfortable for trekking during this time, and mountain views are simply breathtaking. As the skies remain blue and clear, the mountain views come even more alive at such time. On the other hand, winter falls from December to February, and most think it is not a suitable time for trekking in Nepal due to cold weather conditions. However, it is one of the fantastic times for Short Annapurna Trek. Since the trek takes in the lower altitude, the weather is bearable in such heights.

Similarly, the skies are best during the winter season; thus, the mountain glistens brightly and vibrantly. Similarly, from June to August is summer/monsoon, which is also a good time for this trek despite rain might cause some hindrance. On the flip side, summer/monsoon offers a tranquil ambiance because pretty and colorful flowers cover the hills.

Highlights of the trek:

  • A chance to taste the cultural and natural pleasantries in the shortest way possible.
  • The beautiful lake city of Pokhara and its bustling nature
  • A natural abundance to explore from the Australian Camp and panoramic view of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and many others
  • Explore the locals and their culture while traversing through terraced fields and picturesque villages to dense forests of rhododendron and oak
  • A stopover in Sarangkot to witness the golden sunrise view amidst the Annapurna range and many more.

Reviews

Tim Schmidt, Bern, Switzerland A very well organized and precisely chosen tour into the area around Pokhara. Green rice fields, mountain views and nice mountain lodges are visible, even in the inferior trekking season in late August. The guide is able to speak better english than many Europeans and can help with nearly everything, you might need. We would recommend this trip to anyone with a tighter schedule.
Jeff, North America Just got back from Nepal a couple of days ago, where my partner and I were doing an Everest Base Camp Trek assisted by Nepal Hiking Team. Their service couldn't have been better. I started planning this trip last Spring and looked at numerous trekking companies. Chose NHT due to the tremendously positive reviews on them, the professionalism of their website, and the quick response I got from Ganga when I sent an initial inquiry via their website -- he phoned me within a few hours, apparently as soon as the morning had come round to Nepal (given the time difference between North America and Nepal). He was extremely helpful and responsive from the start, all the way through the completion of our trek and the last couple of days back in Kathmandu. Our guide for the trek, Bhim, couldn't have been more helpful and took very good care of us and kept us safe. The whole operation and experience couldn't have been more positive.
Marcel, South Africa We recently returned from an EPIC trekking adventure to Everest Base Camp with the Nepal Hiking Team. Due to some time restraints we trekked on the cusp of the season, started our trek on 30th Aug, and returned to Kathmandu on the 10th of Sept, and what a great decision that was! The weather was amazing, we had most of the tea-houses to ourselves, our guides were on their first trip after the second wave of the covid 19. So it was great for them as well to witness everything as if for the first time. If you prefer a more 'quiet' trek, then I would recommend going on the cusp of the season! Our guide Raj of Nepal Hiking Team, did everything in his power to make the trip a most memorable trip and our wonderful porter who's name happens to be 'Love' totally lived up to his name! I cannot thank the Nepal Hiking Team enough for all their prep work, the guide's knowledge and caring for our welfare, and Ganga, the father of the group who personally met us at the airport and made sure that all our needs were met. What a great team, I highly recommend Nepal Hiking Team for your future Himalayan trekking!
Raymond Low, Singapore Nepal Hiking Team provide an excellent guide to me when I hiked Everest Base Camp. My guide, Mr. Prakesh Rai, is very professional and caring... He always gives me very informative replies whenever I have a question or two about the terrain which we are trekking, the history of certain towns or places we passed by or stayed...He is always asking how I am (my old right ankle injury came back)...and will help me carry my load.... We had a good time together especially when we take photographs of the awesome scenery.....He works tirelessly and would be a concern for my diet and always asked me if I had enough of food, hows my leg was, and whether feeling ok especially when we are going towards a higher altitude..... We had a wonderful acclimatization climb and he is always observing me how I am doing. Nepal Hiking Team rocks!.... And I would sincerely recommend my friends to this group..... It’s simply awesome!... Thank you Nepal Hiking team and it's truly a great experience traveling with your professional guide!
Yang, Singapore It was an awesome experience in Nepal, in which a big part of my trip was covered in the mountain, thank to NHT. Ganga, the company manager has been engaging since my enquiry and very efficient and patient with all my queries. They are flexible to customize to my needs due to my planned itinerary besides hiking. They also made arrangement for airport pick up and Ganga met me in person in my lodge to go through the procedures and discussion. 2 days prior to the trek it was raining heavily and many flights were cancelled. We were lucky to tag along a rescue helicopter to Lukla, also thank to Ganga's arrangement. When we arrived at the start point, we were welcome by the friendly guide and porters. My relationship with Gurung, the guide was very good, he took care of me every single bit of the trip, as I was a slow walker in the team. He would check our conditions from time to time to ensure our well beings. Gurung and I joked around in the tea houses and we made many friends and some exchange of cultural knowledge. I was not well when I returned from Base Camp. We discussed and we decided that an evacuation was needed. Gurung visited me in the hospital and sent me back to the hotel after discharge. I had a farewell lunch with him. Ganga and Hari, the 2 managers visited me on the 2 days and they even sent me to the hospital again for report collection. Hari also sent me to the airport on my departure day. I have total satisfaction and heart-felt appreciation for Nepal Hiking Team. There were other companies who tried to compromise prices and quality but not NHT, who insisted on quality and care above all. I'm back in Singapore safely. And they are keeping in contact with me on some follow-ups. I truly want to recommend you this company for their awesome service given the reasonable if not attractive price! This trip was so awesome although I had some hiccups on my decent. I miss Nepal alot, and the friendship shared.
