Why Annapurna Poon Hill trek with family?

Annapurna Poon Hill Trek is a 12-day journey and the greatest height you will reach in this whole journey is at Poon Hill (3210m). Unlike other hikes in Nepal, it is an average height trek so there are fewer chances of getting altitude sickness. Besides, the trek gradually approaches the highest part of the trek hence it, even more, diminishes the chances of getting sick. Besides, the trail is not very rough on the leg so people of all ages can approach the trail steadily. Nonetheless, if kids find it difficult to walk, there are pony rides also available which one can take service of.

Furthermore, it is one of the fun trails of the Annapurna region. It is filled with interaction with nature and the locals. Hence, this lets kids learn about diverse cultural groups as well as different types of life they never envisioned. It is a perfect opportunity for parents to teach about different ethnic groups to their children as well as reacquaint them with nature. This generation’s kids are engraved in technology that in some way they are losing the interest in nature and the real world. Therefore, we believe it will be a great way to learn about life away from the modernization and reacquaint with the fine essence of Mother Nature.

Best Time for Annapurna Poon Hill trek

Annapurna Poon Hill Trek is doable all through the year. Nonetheless, the best that the trail will ever become is during spring and autumn. Spring is lush and full of greenery whereas, the weather in the autumn is just right and the mountain views are clearer than ever. The trek is doable during monsoon or summer and winter as well, nevertheless, an extra amount of research, as well as packing, is required to trek during these times. Similarly, during monsoon, the trail is slippery, muddy, and full of leeches due to rain. Henceforth, among other seasons, monsoon may not be the best time for Annapurna Poon Hill Trek to do with the family. Other than that, all the other three seasons are pretty awesome and have beautiful weather for family treks.

Fitness Level/Difficulty Level

To do Annapurna Poon Hill Trek, nobody has to be an expert hiker or trekker. Having good physical strength and determination is one of the things that is required to do the trek. Besides, the trail is steep and narrow, nonetheless, it is not a very difficult trekking trail. Nevertheless, people can prepare for the trek by doing a minor exercise routine at least 2 months before the trek. While training for the trek, please remember to include cardiovascular exercises. Overall, the Annapurna Poon Hill Family trek is not difficult and the trail is trekkers friendly too. Reviews

Rebecca and Paul, UK Birtday at Ghandruk If you are wishing to visit Nepal and do some trekking, sightseeing or some other adventure, I'd say there is likely not many better companies to go with in Nepal. From the very first contact with them, Nepal Hiking Team and their Manager, Ganga, was prompt in his replies and provided all the necessary information. Ganga then advised on the best trip for us bearing in mind our time frames and what we wanted and then happily tailored a trip to suit us. On arrival, everything went absolutely smoothly from airport pick up to airport drop off and everything in between. The hotels and lodges we stayed in were very good and we always seemed to get preferential treatment from the owners maybe because we were from Nepal Hiking Team! The guide, Raj, was superb and made the trek even better than it was. Nothing was too much trouble for him. They even went to the efforts of organizing a surprise birthday cake when we were trekking for my wife when we finished one day in a Lodge. Also, when we stayed in Kathmandu after our trek, they very kindly offered to help us find some suitable accommodation at a discounted price they can get from the hotels. So in short, I'd have no hesitation in strongly recommending Nepal Hiking Team to anyone - you wont be disappointed. In terms of the trek we done, we tailored it slightly and omitted the Kathmandu sightseeing and in doing so, got a cheaper price. The trek was just about right for us and allowed time each day to relax in the lodge and small village we stayed in. On some days, we had the chance to get to know the local family. The trip is suitable for all ages who would likely go trekking with ample time to relax and spend some time in each location. Rebecca and Paul
Alexis and Staffan BJorlin, United States Where can I begin? From the very first inquiry email which was replied by the owner, Ganga, to the first meeting of the team and the final days in Pokhara and Kathmandu, everything was professionally arranged with proper care for our family and well-being. Poon Hill We chose Nepal Hiking Team after checking a number of factors: recent TripAdvisor reviews, familiarity of trekking with children, responsiveness, and ownership as we were looking for a Nepalese owned company. We are a family of 4 with two small children, almost 4 and just over 5 years old who have been on an extended tour around the world and we did not have much time to prepare. Plus, we did not originally planned on coming to Nepal. We have explored many cities and beaches, and we thought of getting into the peaks for some time. Trekking with a family with small kids and with such a wide range of fitness level was quite daunting, but Ganga did not flinch and proficiently recommended the wonderful trek (Ghorepani-Poon Hill-Ghandruk). We enjoyed right accommodations, planned extra stops for rest and for the kids to play, and put together with a team so incredible that my husband and I could not have been more delighted. feeling good We were quite worried to start, as we were doubtful concerning whether the kids would take pleasure from the days hiking or being carried as the paths are quite steep. We met our guide, Arjun, the night before we head off to Pokhara who made us really comfortable. He was very experienced: calm, attentive, and professional. We also met with the rest of the team: 3 porters named Mithu, Arun, and Surendra (one for our luggage and one for each child, just in case). All were fantastic people especially Arun who immediately distinguished himself as almost a second guide. He was much helpful and responsive, proactive to meet to any of our needs or concerns, and our generally shy kids mixed-up with him immediately. Arjun and Arun were ever patient, always thought of ahead, carefully outlined the course of the day, pre-arranged the best accommodations, thoughtful to get the kids biscuits and entertain with their playfulness. Each morning, we set out at 8AM and typically had approximately 5 hours of hiking, with well planned water and tea breaks. The trek itself was lovely which included walking through several villages, crossing a lot of rivers and waterfalls, and definitely the views of the Annapurna range were stunning. We were lucky to have clear visibility to witness the sun rise over the snow-topped peaks. The accommodations were perfect. The team seems to know all the finest places and we always got the opportunity to see great views from the rooms. Without any doubt, this trekking experience will be amongst our top highlights of our family adventure whole year around the world. The trip turned out to be an unforgettable trip with the amazing services of the impeccable Nepal Hiking Team. I could not give a higher recommendation for the company than NHT. We met a number of others who were also hiking with NHT, and they also shared about the same satisfaction. There is no doubt that we will make a trip to Nepal (with kids a few years grown-up with longer legs to match the steps!) and we will certainly seek out NHT as well as recommend the outfit to our closest friends and family.
Bogdan Ilie, USA My wife and I were lucky to have chosen Nepal Hiking Team to plan our trip. We opted for a private guide and had a porter as well. We waited at the airport, and we were dropped off there as well when we left Nepal. Our guide, Ram, made sure that our trip was organized flawlessly and that we were doing well and happy at all times. He chose the best available teahouses, and we were allowed to chose the food from the menu in all of them (there seem to be agencies that say you can either choose dal bhat or pay out of pocket). We were even served, during dinner, sliced apples carried by the porter. Ram was very knowledgeable, and he shared information related to mountain peaks, vegetation, and animals. As we saw, his English skills are excellent. Above all, he is friendly and has a positive attitude, so we enjoyed talking and interacting with him. The porter, Bhola, was also very friendly. He looked like he was 50 kg but carried 55-65 kg easily. Overall, it was a fantastic once-in-a-lifetime experience to which Ram, Bhola, and Nepal Hiking Team contributed substantially. One of the owners, Ganga, even offered free rides to do the PCR tests or other purposes. We couldn't have hoped for better treatment from this agency. Lucie H, UK In May this year - some friends and I joined the NHT For 16 days. Every fine detail was considered, with our guides and porters going above & beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy. Their knowledge and experience created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us all. I have no hesitation in recommending Nepal Hiking Team to anyone! They made this experience perfect, thank you, guys.
Mike, USA I went with my girlfriend to the Everest Base Camp with a guide and porter from Nepal Hiking Team. Right from the pick-up from the airport, we felt like valued clients, and we were made to feel very welcome and relaxed in an otherwise hectic city. From the moment the trek started, our guide Bheg ensured we were comfortable and constantly checked on our physical state throughout each day and provided advice and assistance where we needed it. Overall, the experience was one I'll never forget, primarily because I proposed at the top and because the Nepal Hiking team made the experience as stress-free and as organized as possible, all with a smile on their face at all times. I highly recommend NHT.
