When To Book The Ghorepani Poon Hill Family Trek?

If you plan to embark on the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, you're in for a treat! But when is the best time to go? Well, let me tell you, the best times to go are during the Spring and Autumn seasons. Why, you ask? Because the weather is mild during these seasons, the skies are generally clear, and the mountain views are breathtaking.

Imagine walking through lush forests and ascending to Poon Hill for panoramic views of mountain ranges. Sounds like a dream, right? But wait, there's more! The trails are also relatively dry during these seasons, making for easier trekking conditions. And the temperature is comfortable for trekking, so you can enjoy the journey without worrying about overheating or getting too cold. It's no wonder that Spring and Autumn are popular times for trekking in Nepal.

While trekking during the winter months is possible, it can be quite cold, so make sure to pack appropriately. On the other hand, trekking during the summer monsoon season, heavy rainfall can lead to muddy trails and difficult trekking conditions.

So, if you want to experience the beauty of the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek at its finest, plan your trip in Spring or Autumn.

    How Adventurous Is The Journey?

While it's true that the trek involves some uphill and downhill climbs, don't let that discourage you - this is an easy to moderate trek that's suitable for most people with average physical fitness levels. The trail is also well-established. And there are plenty of opportunities to take breaks and rest along the way. As long as you're able to walk for 4-6 hours per day, you should be able to complete the trek without any issues.

Now you may ask, is there any chance of getting altitude sickness? Well, the answer is no! You don’t need to worry about that. As the trek takes you to a high altitude of 3,210 m, there’s little to no chance of getting altitude sickness at this height. Thus, it would be the perfect holiday for your family.

    Are There Any Alternative Adventures?

The answer is yes! There are several alternative adventures that you can look into if you don’t like this one.

The Mardi Himal Trek is the first one that you can look into. This trek is a great alternative for those looking for a less crowded trekking route. The trail takes you through traditional Nepalese villages and lush forests before ascending to high alpine terrain. The trek presents you with stunning views of Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range.

Second up, we have the Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek. This trek takes you to the base of one of the highest peaks in the world, Annapurna I. Along the way, you'll pass through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and dense rhododendron forests, all while enjoying panoramic views of the Annapurna range.
