Detailed Programs
Kathmandu (1,400m) to Lukla ( 2,860m)
Early morning, you’ll be picked up from the hotel and dropped to Kathmandu’s airport. You’ll get into the helicopter and begin the ride to Lukla.
Please remember that as this is a mountain helicopter tour, weather changes will lead to a delay or even cancellation of the flight. Please be prepared for the delays.
Refueling at Lukla ( 2,860m)
After you get on the helicopter, you’ll start the ride to Lukla. On the helicopter ride to Lukla, you’ll be on the top and be able to see the Kathmandu valley. Look out for the rivers, hills, and many different snow-capped mountains on the way.
The ride from Kathmandu to Lukla will be 45 minutes. There will be a quick stop in Lukla for refueling. Lukla is a small town located in the Solukhumbu district, in the northeastern part of Nepal. It is popular for being the starting point for the Everest Base Camp Trek and the shortest airport runway.
After refueling, the tour will continue again, flying to Kala Patthar- the highest hiking point.
Lukla (2,860m) to Kala Patthar ( 5,644m)
The helicopter ride from Lukla to Kala Patthar will be a thrilling one. You’ll be awed by the mesmerizing views of the Khumbu Glacier, rivers, and green hills. Once you land on Kala Patthar, you’ll be surrounded by majestic peaks like Mount Everest, Nuptse, Changtse, Lhotse, Pumori, and the Khumbu Icefall. Kala Patthar (5,644m) – Everest Base Camp – Syanboche – Everest View Hotel (3,880m)
The next program on the itinerary is the tour from Kala Patthar overfly to the Everest Base Camp. You’ll see numerous trekking camps, icefalls, glaciers, and mountains surrounding you.
After an amazing time , you’ll head towards Everest View Hotel at Syanboche. The Everest View Hotel is one of the world’s highest-placed hotels. In fact, in 2004, the Guinness Book of World Records listed Everest View Hotel as one of the highest places in the world at 13000ft.
You can order the breakfast of your choice and enjoy it with an amazing 360-degree view of the mountain.
Syanboche( 3,880m) to Lukla ( 2,860m)
After completing your breakfast, you’ll head back to Lukla. On the way back, look out for rivers, and enjoy the view of the great Himalayas.
Lukla(2,860m) to Kathmandu ( 1,400m)
There will be a quick stop at Lukla again for refueling the helicopter. After about 15-20 minutes, you’ll head back to Kathmandu, marking the end of the amazing Everest Helicopter Tours.
