Day 01 - Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (KTM) Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu at any time. Our airport representative will welcome you and explain the program further. There are no planned activities for the day, so check into the hotel. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02 - Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour
Touring the World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley that includes: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.
Day 03 - Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft) Duration: 3 hours
Early morning transfer to the airport for Lukla flight. The flight to Lukla is a lifetime experience in itself. The airfield is at high evaluation and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about an exceptional 60 meters only. Trek to Phakding with an arresting, green landscape with the view of Kusum Kangraru. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 04 - Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft) Duration: 6 hours
We follow the Dudh Koshi, ascending through Himalayan pine and cedar forests, to the celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. The village of Namche is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dried meat and textiles. Besides being a splendid destination to shop for traditional crafts, Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu that attracts Himalayan and lowland merchants. You will spend two days at Namche for acclimatization, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the hike we capture our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks. Day 05 - Acclimatization day - Everest View Hotel – Return, 4-5 hours
This day is especially sectioned for acclimatization. We will hike to Syangboche Airport (3700m), supposed to be the highest airport in the world, then continue climbing to Everest View Hotel for great panoramic views of the Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Tawache etc. On the way back, we visit Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 06 - Namche to Dole (4200m/13776ft) Duration: 5- 6 hours
The trails easy in the begging up to Kyangjuma & climb steeply out of the valley through rhododendron forests, which give way to fragrant stands of juniper and large conifers as the elevation increases. This trek is especially beautiful in spring when the rhododendrons are blooming. The trails pass many Kharkas, summer settlements used when Sherpas bring herds of yaks to graze in these high pastures. The route passes through the settlement s of Tongba (3950m) and Gyele (3960m) to Dole where there are few lodges. The views of Khumbila and Tawache (6542m) are incredible throughout the day!! Day 07 - Dole to Machhermo (4400m/14432ft) Duration: 4-5 hours
Trail climbs to Lambara at (4220m) and Luza at (4360m). The tails is steep in most places as it climbs through brush junipers. There are Kharkas whenever there is a flat spot and the slightest hint of water. The trails continue to climb along the side of the valley, high above the river, crossing sandy spurs to Machhermo at (4410m). Here was in Machhermo in 1974 that Yeti killed three yaks and attached a Sherpa woman. This is the most credit yeti incident ever reported. Day 08 - Machhermo to Gokyo Lake (4700m/15416ft) Duration: 4 -5 hours
We climbs a ridge for an excellent view both down the valley to Kantega and up towards Cho-Oyu (8201m). Beyond the ridge the valley widens as the trail passes through Pangka at (4390m) then descends to the riverbank before beginning of climb on to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier. It’s a steep climb up the moraine, switch backing alongside the stream to the first small Lake at (4650m), where a family of green Brainy ducks resides. Day 09 - Hike to Gokyo RI (5360m/17880ft) Duration: 4-5 hours
You will wake up early and climb up to the Gokyo-RI for panoramic view of the Mahalangur Himalayan range. It takes approximately 2 hours climb to the top of the peak, providing a panoramic view of Cho-Oyu, the Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and the Tawache. It also provides a great view of Ngozumpa glacier- the largest glacier in Nepal. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 10 - Trek to Lunden (4300m/14104 ft) via crossing Renjo la pass (5340m/17843 ft) Duration: 6-7 hours
The crossing of the Renjo La Pass will be exciting and challenging as we descend into remote northern Valley where access is restricted, and the landscape progressively resembles that of the Tibetan Valleys beyond the border. There is a chance we will meet Tibetan Traders descending from the Nangpa La pass that leads through the Himalayas from Tibet with their caravans of woolly yaks laden with goods. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 11 - Trek to Thame (3800m/13464ft), Duration: 4-5 Hours
After taking breakfast, we will trek down to Thame for more amazing snow peaks. We may meet Tibetan trader encampments along the way for pictures of a rare lifestyle. About 150 meters above Thame, there is a Thame Monastery, a picturesque monastery set among the many homes of monks and Lay people. It is perched on the side of a hill overlooking the valley. This is the site for the spring celebration of the Mani Rimdu festival, held about the middle of May each year. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 12 - Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft) Duration: 4-5 Hours
We will continue our trek, following the flat and descending to first resting place Thamo after heading towards Namche bazaar. The trek back is very beautiful. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 13 - Trek back to Lukla (2800m/9184ft) Duration: 6-7 Hours
The trek continues along the Dudh Koshi River to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla, where you will catch your return flight to Kathmandu. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 14 - Fly back to Kathmandu
You will say good bye to the mountains with a 30-minutes amazing scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arriving back at Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 15 - Free Day in Kathmandu
This day is a reserve day in Kathmandu. You can spend the day resting or shopping in the city as per your inclination. Overnight stay at Kathmandu. Breakfast included.
Day 16 - Tour Ends/Farewell
The airport representative from Nepal Hiking Team will transport you to Kathmandu International Airport around 3 hours before your scheduled flight from where you will depart. Meals: Breakfast included.
