Everest and Island Peak Climbing Overview
As you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our staff will greet you and take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After the transfer, you have the rest of the evening to yourself. The next day will be for preparation. On this day, you’ll check your trekking equipment and prepare for the trek and climb. The real journey will start with a thrilling flight to Lukla.
Upon landing, you’ll hike to Phakding to stay for the night. Moving forward, you’ll reach Namche Bazar. Here, you’ll let your body adjust to the high altitude and hike to Everest View Hotel. Continuing the trek, you’ll cross Tengboche and Dingboche. You’ll stay at Dingboche for an extra day for acclimatization. On this day, you’ll hike to Nagarjun Danda. Passing by Lobuche, you’ll reach Everest base Camp and descend to Gorekshep for an overnight stay.
Further, you’ll elevate towards Kala Pathar. After taking in the breathtaking views, you’ll continue your journey and descend to Dingboche. After descending, you’ll walk towards the Island Peak Climb. Later, you’ll climb up to the summit of the Island Peak. Taking a contingency day, you’ll trace your way back to Namche Bazar and then to Lukla. The flight back to Kathmandu marks the end of your journey. Taking a day to relax or buying souvenirs for your friends and family, you’ll finally fly back home.
Alternative Adventures for Island Expedition
Want to know the alternative adventures? Well, let’s explore that in this section.
The Lobuche Peak Climb is an exciting adventure that you can consider. It is an 18-day journey that takes you to the base Camp of Mt. Everest and to climb Lobuche Peak instead of Island Peak. The climb to Lobuche Peak is relatively easier than the climb to Island Peak.
Another is the Gokyo Lake – EBC – Island Peak Climbing. It is a 22-day journey that will give you a whole experience of the Everest region. The trail first takes you to witness the tranquility of the Gokyo lakes, then to the foothill of Mt. Everest, and then it's time to climb one of the notorious peaks in Khumbu, Island Peak. Along the way, you’ll also cross the high mountain pass, Chola Pass, and hike to the vantage points, such as Gokyo Ri and Kala Pathar, to witness the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.
Rest assured that a Himalayan adventure is an experience you will never forget. Nonetheless, if you have any queries regarding the trip, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are always ready to assist you and ensure your satisfaction.

Besides being a splendid destination to shop for traditional crafts, Namche also remains the central trading post in the Khumbu that attracts Himalayan and lowland merchants.
You will spend two days at Namche for acclimatization, visit local markets, and spend time with your team. On the hike to Namche, we can capture our first glimpses of Everest and its neighboring peaks.

Day 05: Trek from Namche to Everest View Hotel (3880m) and return, 3–4 km, 3–4 hrs

The climb is lengthy, but is more than adequately compensated by gorgeous views of Mount Ama Dablam and on clear days, views of Mt. Everest and its surrounding peaks. Tengboche is located at the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and the Imja River and is surrounded by the ridges covered in alpine woods. Views of the Danphe birds can also be seen in the forests. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Tengboche, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included

Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410 m | 14,468 ft), 11–12 km, 5 hrs

Perhaps today is the most interesting trekking because you will not lose altitude like on other days. You can also enjoy views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse & many other peaks along the way. The route continues through pastures to Dingboche, known as the 'summer valley'.
At Dingboche, you can see a kilometer-long wall built to protect the village’s crops. Mani Stone walls also line the trail. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Dingboche, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Nangkartshang(5,100 m | 16,732 ft) and return, 4–5 km, 5–6 hrs
This would be your second acclimatization day that requires about 6 hours of trekking to an altitude of 5100 meters. After breakfast, you will ascend to Nangkartshang/Nagerjun (5100m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche. The main aim is to climb high and sleep low.
The footpath becomes steep at times, resulting in a physically strenuous day. Ascending the hill could take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this altitude, there are good views of the Lobuche East (6119m), the Lobuche West (6145m), the Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), the Kangtega (6685m) and the Ama Dablam (6856m).
On a clear day, you could even see Mount Makalu, the world’s fifth highest mountain, including great views of the Pheriche Valley. After a short rest, you will then start the descent back to Dingboche and the walk at altitude takes about 2 hours. After lunch, we can take a well-deserved rest, as afternoon temperatures could drop rapidly as the sun sets over the mountain tops. You will also spend a second night in Dingboche.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 09: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910 m | 16,109 ft), 11–12 km, 5–6 hrs
Trekking along a broad valley floor to Dughla, we will be passing the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche (4240 m). This post is staffed by western volunteer doctors and supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association, which offers treatment and consultation to trekkers. Continuing up the valley, we will be gaining altitude. We will come out of the valley to descend to the yak pastures of Lobuche.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 10: Trek to EBC(5,364 m | 17,598 ft) and return to Gorakshep, 14–15 km, 8 hrs
After a short climb through meadows, you can look down at the Khumbu glacier. Straight ahead is Kalapatthar - the best vantage point to view the entire south face of Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks. After a couple of hours, we will get to Gorekshep, and continue our journey to the Everest Base Camp. There is not much elevation gain, but there are a lot of ups and downs and, combined with altitude, this can be an exhausting trek - but the journey is worth it.
After approximately 3 hrs of hiking, you will arrive at the base camp and can enjoy a magnificent view of the Khumbu glacier and icefall, from where the Everest expedition begins. Then we will go back to Gorakshep. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Gorakshep, breakfast, lunch and dinner included
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 13: Trek from Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5,240 m | 17,192 ft), 6 km, 2–3 hrs
After breakfast, we shall move to the Island Peak Base Camp.
Pre-Climb Training: After lunch, our guides will provide training on peak climbing techniques and using climbing gears such as ice axes, climbing boots, crampons, harnesses, ascenders, et. cetera, and how to go up and down using ropes. However, please note that it is not compulsory to have a training experience for Island Peak Climbing. Still, a brief training does increase the chances of scaling the summit and thoroughly enjoying the experience.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 14: Trek to Island Peak Summit (6,189 m | 20,305 ft) and to Chhukung, 10–12 km, 10–11 hrs
Today marks the pinnacle of our trek as we aim to reach the summit of Island Peak, situated at an altitude of 6,189 meters.
An early start is crucial, as we face an approximate 11-hour journey. Our path takes us through a rocky gorge, leading to a ridge that guides us to the glacier's snout. The ascent to Island Peak's summit promises unforgettable panoramic views, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Following the summit experience, we will descend to base camp and proceed back to Chhukung.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 15: Reserve Day for Contingency

In cases of exceptionally poor weather, it may be prudent to delay our summit plans. This extra day also accommodates any issues with acclimatization or health concerns within the group. However, if our journey proceeds without any hitches, we won't need to use this spare day.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Day 16: Trek from Chhukung to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m | 11,286 ft), 19 km, 7–8 hrs

Best Time of the year for Island Peak Climbing with EBC
As the best travel agency in Nepal, we want our clients to get the most out of their journey. Hence, we are here with the most suitable times to climb the Island Peak.
Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November) stain the best times for the climb. These two times is the peak season for trekking in Nepal. Offering mesmerizing views with clear blue skies, the weather condition is mild during these seasons.
Taking on this strenuous journey during winter and monsoon is not recommended. As the weather gets far less predictable and harsher during these times, it can raise safety concerns. The combination of low air temperatures and high wind speeds will make the trek even more challenging.
Difficulty of Everest Base Camp with Island Peak
You may wonder if you can reach the Summit of Island Peak via EBC. And how much physically fit do you have to be to take on this “Mighty Climb”?
As overwhelming as the Climb to Island Peak via EBC sounds, the journey is graded as a strenuous one. Since the trek combines the thrill of reaching the foothill of Mt. Everest with the Island Peak Climb, it demands you to have good physical fitness. It is best suited for people looking for a more thrilling experience than a regular one.
Nevertheless, with enough acclimatization days and with the help of our highly experienced guide, you can complete the trek successfully.

Gokyo Lakes/EBC Nepal Hiking Team is the best
We had an incredible experience with Nepal Hiking Team, especially with our guide, Rudra.
The trip was fully flexible. We originally planned to do Gokyo, EBC, and Island Peak, but during the trek, we decided to change plans and just do Gokyo. It was no problem at all—they adjusted everything for us without any hassle.
We had a medical emergency, and Rudra, along with the Nepal Hiking Team, took care of everything. They arranged a helicopter back to Kathmandu, contacted our insurance, and even stayed with us at the hospital. We felt fully supported the whole time.
Rudra really understood us. He adjusted the pace to match what we were comfortable with—we never felt rushed and could enjoy the views. He also took lots of photos for us and made sure we didn’t miss any of the good viewpoints.
At the teahouses, Rudra handled it all—getting us the best rooms, taking care of food, and making sure we were comfortable.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. We’d recommend Nepal Hiking Team to anyone.

EBC + Island Peak, our guide, Netra took excellent care of us like a big brother!
My husband and I completed the EBC trek with Island Peak, followed by a helicopter ride back to Lukla.
Nepal Hiking Team has been amazing in every aspect, from communication before the trip to our time in Nepal. Every detail exceeded our expectations.
We would like to take this opportunity to specially compliment and express our heartfelt gratitude to our guide, Netra. Beyond providing explanations about the trail, he ensured our well-being at every step. On the third day at Namche Bazaar, we fell sick, and Netra supported us in every possible way, ensuring we had proper nutrition and hydration to recover. He even carried our day packs to help us sustain our pace to the next location. Coming from a lifetime at sea level, acclimatization was another challenge for us. Netra offered essential support to manage our symptoms, especially headaches, and constantly checked in on us.
What touched us most was during the Island Peak hike. As a trekking guide, he could have handed us over to the mountain guide at that point and stayed back. Instead, he chose to accompany us to the base camp to ensure our well-being, health, and comfort. This meant sleeping in a smaller tent, more exposed to the cold weather and strong winds. The Island Peak hike was extremely challenging. By then, on the ninth day of trekking, we were physically drained. Carrying heavy mountaineering equipment uphill was an additional struggle. Netra volunteered to carry our equipment up to the crampon point, roughly 4.5 hours uphill, beyond which he couldn’t proceed without proper mountaineering gear. This act was especially touching and played a crucial role in our successful ascent of Island Peak.
On our return to Kathmandu, bad weather at Lukla grounded most flights, causing a two-day backlog for helicopter rides. Netra tried everything possible to get us onto a helicopter, even if it meant sacrificing his own seat. He had to make a two-day walking and land transfer back to Kathmandu instead.
Every action Netra took touched our hearts. To us, Netra is like a big brother. He said, “I’m not only your guide; I am your friend and guardian.” He put our well-being above everything else and constantly gave us positive encouragement and empowerment whenever we had self-doubt. He reminded us that we were like family and that we would always help one another.
Our porter, Dakman, was equally fantastic. Seeing that we were exhausted and unwell, he quickly carried our duffel bags to the tea houses and then returned to help with our day bags so that we could keep going.
In every way, we are beyond pleased with Nepal Hiking Team and will absolutely choose them again for future treks in Nepal. When we return, we will undoubtedly request Netra to be part of our journey again.

Exciting and most memorable experience
Experience of a lifetime! Leading up to the trip, I felt some excitement and uncertainty because I was traveling from New Jersey to Nepal, so it was a trip to the other side of the world. Also knowing we were going to trek to the highest region in the world.
Once we arrived in Kathmandu, we met up with our guide (Bhim). After a few minutes of talking with him, I felt a sense of calm and my excitement of joy grew from there. And I was right he and his team made sure we had the best experience possible.
The full trek going and coming was incredible. Our guide, Bhim, made sure we had the best experience. Can’t say enough of how wonderful he and his team made this one for the books!
I highly recommend booking with this company and Bhim! Namaste!

Island Peak
I recently completed a two-week journey with Nepal Hiking Team to summit Island Peak. The logistics and coordination provided by the team were exceptional. My experience was fantastic, thanks especially to Ganga from Nepal Hiking Team and my guide, Arjun, who were both amazing.
Despite the challenging weather, Arjun’s skill and experience made the summit achievable. I highly recommend Nepal Hiking Team and am sincerely grateful to Arjan and Ganga for a memorable trip.

Solo Traveler
I just completed trekking in Nepal together with another solo traveler. The service of Nepal Hiking Team was exemplary from the start till the end. Nothing beats word-of-mouth good reviews.
Mr. Ganga has been very responsive to queries from Day 1 and was physically present even on the last day to officially close the loop for the package tour.
Our guide Bibek was very patient and sincere as he led us through the trek. He resolved issues with his heart and people skills and gave assurance whenever plans suddenly changed.
He ensured things were changed for the better. Our porter, Rajendran, was also good and always arrived ahead of time to ensure our rooms were confirmed.

EBC Trek with Island Peak FAQs
Why Nepal Hiking Team
Why should I choose Nepal Hiking Team for the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Climb?
With over 17 years of operating in the Everest region, our professional Sherpa climbing guides, originally from the Khumbu area, bring both trekking and mountaineering expertise. They are licensed and highly experienced in leading successful Island Peak summits.
We ensure proper acclimatization, itinerary design, tea house accommodation during the trek, and tented base camp facilities during the climb. Small group sizes allow for personal guidance, and our guides provide a practical climbing training session at Island Peak Base Camp before your summit attempt.
Our team is on standby 24/7 for customer support, meaning you can reach us anytime during your journey.
More than 2,300 five-star reviews show the trust past trekkers and climbers have placed in us, proving our dedication to safely guiding travelers to Everest Base Camp and the 6,189m summit of Island Peak.
What is the group size for the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Climb? Is departure guaranteed?
On average, our EBC with Island Peak trip accommodates 6 to 8 trekkers, with a maximum of 10 participants in one group. This ensures that every trekker and climber receives proper guidance, attention, and safety checks during both the trek and the climb.
All our Island Peak via EBC trips are guaranteed to depart once you’ve booked. Even if you are the only trekker or climber on your selected date, Nepal Hiking Team will operate the trip without cancellations. This gives you confidence that your adventure is secure regardless of group numbers.
Can I book a private EBC with Island Peak trip if I’m traveling with friends, family, or solo?
Yes, absolutely. Solo trekkers are welcome to join any of our group departures. If no other climbers join your chosen date, we will still run the Everest Base Camp & Island Peak package for you with full support. You won’t have to worry about your climb being canceled due to low numbers.
Do you organize private Island Peak expeditions combined with EBC?
Yes, we arrange private trips for families, groups of friends, or solo travelers who prefer a more exclusive experience. A private Island Peak climbing trip allows you to adjust the pace, departure date, and schedule more freely. For solo climbers, private departures are also available, though the cost will be higher as all logistics are arranged specifically for one participant.
What is the itinerary for the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Climb? How many days does it take?
Our standard Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Expedition takes 19 nights 20 days. The trip follows the classic EBC route up to Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp before heading toward Chhukung and Island Peak Base Camp. This itinerary allows for proper acclimatization, a climbing training session, and a safe summit attempt at 6,189 meters (20,305 ft).
How is the EBC with Island Peak Climb different from the regular Everest Base Camp Trek?
Both trips trek the same route to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar. The Island Peak Expedition adds an extra 3–4 days for climbing preparation, base camp stay in tents, and summit day.
At Island Peak Base Camp, you’ll receive a practical training session covering rope techniques, crampon use, ice axe handling, and fixed rope climbing.
Unlike the teahouse trek to EBC, the climb includes camping nights with hot meals prepared by our crew.
Arrival in Nepal & Visa Process
Can I get a visa on arrival for the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Climb?
Yes, most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. To make the process faster, complete the online form in advance and carry cash or a card for the visa fee. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date in Nepal and has one blank page for the visa stamp.
For further details, you can also check our dedicated Nepal Visa Information page before starting your EBC + Island Peak Expedition.
Do you provide airport pickup and drop-off for the Island Peak via EBC trip?
Yes, airport transfers are included in every Everest Base Camp with Island Peak package. On arrival, our team representative will greet you at the airport holding a Nepal Hiking Team placard and transfer you to your hotel.
After completing your expedition, we’ll drop you off at the airport at least three hours before your international flight. If you arrive early or extend your stay after the climb, we’ll adjust the schedule accordingly.
Where will I stay in Kathmandu before and after the trek and climb? Can I upgrade?
Our package includes four nights at a 3-star hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu (e.g., Woodapple Hotel & Spa). You may request an upgrade to a 4- or 5-star hotel at an additional cost, based on your preference.
What is the cost of an extra night’s stay in Kathmandu?
The rate for an extra night is USD 45 for a single room or USD 50 for a twin/double room, inclusive of breakfast and taxes. This is useful if you want to arrive early before your Everest Base Camp and Island Peak Trek or extend your stay after the climb.
What happens during the pre-trek briefing in Kathmandu?
At the pre-trek briefing, you will meet your climbing guide, finalize your remaining balance (if any), and submit a copy of your passport and travel insurance. Our team will also review your gear, ensuring you have all the essentials for the Island Peak climbing section.
We provide you with:
A down jacket
A sleeping bag (–15°C rated)
A crampon
A trekking duffel bag
A Nepal Hiking Team cap and t-shirt
A detailed Island Peak Climb map
During the briefing, you’ll also receive information about the trek, acclimatization schedule, and safety measures for the summit attempt.
Booking, Deposit & Payment
How do I book the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Climb? Do I need to pay a deposit?
Booking your EBC with Island Peak Expedition is straightforward. Simply fill out the trip booking form with your personal details. Flight information and travel insurance details can be provided later. To confirm your space, a 20% deposit of the total trip cost is required. Once the deposit is received, your Everest Base Camp and Island Peak package is officially confirmed.
How and when can I pay the remaining balance for the Island Peak via EBC trip?
The remaining balance can be paid upon arrival in Kathmandu, either in cash (USD, Euro, GBP, or local currency) or by credit card. If you choose to pay by card, a small processing fee may apply. This flexible system allows you to settle your payment before the trek begins.
If I cancel my EBC + Island Peak Trek, will my deposit be refunded?
The 20% deposit is non-refundable, as it helps us secure logistics such as Lukla flights, climbing permits, and porter arrangements. However, Nepal Hiking Team values your trust, so we offer full credit of your deposit for any future trip with us—valid indefinitely. This credit can be applied to another Nepal trekking or climbing adventure whenever you’re ready.
Transportation & Lukla Flights
Do I get a direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla for the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Trek?
Yes, but only in the off-season. During quieter months, you’ll fly directly from Kathmandu to Lukla. In the busiest trekking seasons—spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November)—most flights are rerouted via Ramechhap Airport, about five hours’ drive from Kathmandu. This is a standard process for all treks, including the Everest Base Camp & Island Peak Adventure.
What time will we leave for Ramechhap during the Island Peak via EBC trip?
When flying from Ramechhap, our team departs Kathmandu around 1:00–2:00 AM to reach the airport in time for the morning flights. This ensures you catch the early window of clear weather that Lukla is known for. The exact departure details for your Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Trek are confirmed during your pre-trek briefing in Kathmandu.
Can I avoid the late-night drive to Ramechhap?
Yes. If you’re traveling privately on the Island Peak climbing package via EBC, we can arrange for you to drive to Ramechhap the evening before. You’ll spend the night in a small hotel near the airport and fly to Lukla the next morning without the early-morning road journey.
What if my Lukla flight gets delayed or canceled during the Everest Base Camp and Island Peak Expedition?
Weather in the Himalayas is unpredictable. If your flight is delayed or canceled, we provide two options:
Helicopter transfer from Ramechhap or Kathmandu to Lukla at an extra cost of about USD 450 per person (one-way). This requires agreement from all group members.
Rescheduling to the next day, which is automatically arranged if a helicopter is not chosen.
This flexibility ensures that your Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Climb continues smoothly, even with weather challenges.
Can I fly directly to Lukla by helicopter instead of driving to Ramechhap?
Yes. Many climbers choose to take a helicopter from Kathmandu to Lukla to avoid the 5-hour drive. This costs around USD 450 per person (one-way) and can be arranged with advance notice. It’s a convenient option for trekkers who want to begin their Everest Base Camp & Island Peak Adventure more comfortably.

Our past climbers have ranged from late teens to over sixty. What matters most is good physical fitness, prior trekking experience, and strong determination. During the trek to Everest Base Camp, you will stay in local teahouses. These lodges provide twin-sharing rooms with beds, mattresses, pillows, and clean blankets. In lower villages such as Lukla, Phakding, and Namche, you will usually have attached bathrooms with hot showers. Higher up the trail, facilities are simpler, with shared toilets and basic rooms.

Can I use Wi-Fi during the Everest Base Camp and Island Peak Adventure?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available in most teahouses on the way to Everest Base Camp. You can buy prepaid internet cards such as Everest Link or Airlink, or use a local Ncell SIM card purchased in Kathmandu. The cost is usually USD 10 to 20 for a data pack. Please note that the connection gets weaker at higher altitudes and is not available at Island Peak Base Camp.
Is there phone network coverage on the Island Peak via EBC route?
Yes, phone coverage from NTC and Ncell networks is available in many villages up to Gorak Shep. However, the signal is unreliable in remote parts of the Khumbu and unavailable at Island Peak Base Camp. For emergencies, our guides carry satellite phones to stay connected.
Can I charge my devices during the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Climb?
Yes, charging facilities are available at most teahouses for a small fee, usually NPR 200–500 per device. At higher altitudes, power depends on solar energy, so charging may be slower. We recommend bringing a power bank or solar charger, especially for the Island Peak section where electricity is not available at base camp.
Are Western toilets available on the Everest Base Camp and Island Peak Trek?
Western-style toilets are available in teahouses in Lukla, Phakding, and Namche, as well as in some lodges higher up. At greater altitudes, squat toilets are more common. At Island Peak Base Camp, we provide a separate tented toilet facility for climbers.
Can I stay overnight at Everest Base Camp?
Yes, it is possible to arrange an overnight stay at Everest Base Camp on request. This requires a private booking of at least two people and costs an additional USD 450 per person. Tented accommodation will be provided. However, we do not generally recommend this due to safety concerns at high altitude.
Meals and Drinking Water
What kind of food is available during the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Trek?
On the trek to Everest Base Camp, meals are served in local teahouses. You can enjoy Nepali, Tibetan, Indian, Chinese, and continental dishes. At higher altitudes, menus become simpler but still provide sufficient energy for trekking.
At Island Peak Base Camp, our kitchen crew prepares fresh hot meals in the dining tent. Typical meals include rice, pasta, vegetables, soups, and warm drinks to keep you nourished and energized before and after climbing.
Are vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free meals available during the Island Peak via EBC package?

Customization: Private vs Group (Tips & Cost)
Can I customize my Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Trek itinerary for 2025?
Yes, you can fully customize the EBC with Island Peak package. We also offer cultural tours in Kathmandu before or after your climb. Customization is available for private trips but not for fixed group departures.
Can I extend my Everest Base Camp with Island Peak Adventure to include other treks?
Yes. Popular extensions include adding the Gokyo Lakes trek, which requires about three extra days, or the Everest Three High Passes trek, which adds roughly four to five days. These routes give you quieter trails, glacier crossings, and panoramic views before heading to Island Peak.
Do you organize guided tours in Kathmandu before or after the Island Peak via EBC trip?
Yes, we can arrange Kathmandu city tours for USD 120 per day. The itinerary includes UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Patan Durbar Square. If you extend your stay, we also arrange day trips to Bhaktapur and other nearby cultural landmarks.
When should I tip my guides and porters during the Everest Base Camp and Island Peak Climb?
Tipping is not mandatory but is an appreciated tradition in Nepal. We recommend tipping your climbing guide, trekking guide, and porters in Lukla after the trek and climb are completed. The amount depends on your satisfaction and budget, but many groups follow the suggested tipping guidelines provided during the pre-trek briefing.
How much spending money should I bring for the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak package?
We recommend carrying around NPR 25,000 to 30,000 (roughly USD 200–250) for personal expenses during the trek. This covers Wi-Fi, charging fees, hot showers, snacks, and tips. ATMs are available in Kathmandu and Namche Bazaar, but we advise withdrawing cash in Kathmandu before starting your trip since ATMs in the Khumbu can be unreliable.
