A native of Gurkha, Nabaraj Thapa (Raj) is always dreamt of joining the tourism industry from a young age. To realize his dream he relocated to Kathmandu and worked hard to earn his trekking guide's license. Having grown up close to the mountains, Nabraj has local knowledge and skills to navigate safely through any natural hazard or difficulty along the trail.
Soft-spoken, dedicated, gentle, and a good organizer, Raj has been associated with Nepal Hiking Team since 2021.

I joined the Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek with Nepal Hiking Team and I had the perfect adventure. Right from when I landed to my last day, the company made sure every moment was packed with great service and care.
Ganga, who directs the company, was a big help. He answered all my questions and made planning simple. He made sure everything was ready for me. This made the trip feel special from the beginning.
Nabaraj, my guide, truly stood out. His knowledge and love for the mountains made each day exciting. Suren, our porter, was also crucial. His effort ensured we could enjoy our walk through the Annapurna region without any worries.

My wife and I just completed a ten day trek to Annapurna Base Camp Trek under the care and attention of the Nepal Hiking Team and couldn’t be happier with the service they provided.
From the airport pickup in Kathmandu at the start and all along our program, which included a short stay in Chitwan, and then on to our trek, things went smoothly, exactly as planned. Communication was good, timely, accurate and reassuring.
On the trail, our guide Navaraj (Raj) Thapa and porter Surendra were constant companions that quickly became friends. They greatly enhanced our trip. Without them we would have been lost.
Raj was knowledgeable of sites along the way, the route, and operators at the various guesthouses where we stayed. The second day into the trek I was having trouble with the high altitude, was out of breath, Raj noticed, and took my backpack and carried it the remainder of the day. That act was a trek saver. Thankfully the next few days we walked through lower elevations and I adjusted and carried my pack the rest of the trip.
Both Raj and Suren were always cheerful, attentive, and took care of every and any need we had. We thank Nepal Hiking Team for providing such capable people to accompany us on our journey.
