When planning a tour in the Himalayan mountains, choosing the right travel partner is cautious, as their expertise plays a big role in successfully completing a moderate to challenging trek like EBC. Our friend Snehal, an avid trekker in India and Nepal, recommended going for the Nepal Hiking Team for our EBC adventure.
Ganga Raj ji, the owner of Nepal Hiking Team, gave us a detailed briefing on the do’s and don’ts before we arrived in Nepal. He also shared a day-by-day itinerary of the EBC route, including our stays at various tea houses along the way.
As we began our journey, we stayed at some of the best tea houses where paid Wi-Fi made it easy to stay connected with our family and friends. Despite the high altitude, we were always served hot meals—from breakfast to dinner—keeping us energized for the trek. The menu had an impressive variety, including pasta, pizza, noodles, dal bhat, sandwiches, and fruits. This variety was especially helpful when our appetites decreased due to the altitude, ensuring we ate regularly to stay strong for the days ahead. Some tea houses even had restaurants with heaters, offering much-needed warmth.
Our trek was guided by Prakash and Milan—two energetic young guides who were our guiding lights throughout the journey. They shared fascinating stories about the history of the mountains, monasteries, villages, and routes, enriching our experience every step of the way.
All six of us successfully reached EBC, and right after, Nepal Hiking Team quickly arranged helicopter and flight tickets to get us back to Kathmandu, saving us two extra days. They even adjusted the costs for the unused portion of our stay, allowing us to wrap up the trip in just 11 days, starting from Mumbai.
A big shout-out to Nepal Hiking Team for their excellent and efficient service in helping us achieve this bucket-list adventure! Thank you so much, and we can’t wait for more trips with you in Nepal!
