Recommended to us by our friend who had trekked with NHT before, we were left with no room for disappointments through our trek to the Everest Base Camp. A well-organized trek, it was a vacation well-spent. Our welcome at the airport by Ganga, the managing director of the agency, was a nice surprising touch that concreted the company’s promises of amazing treks. Although the weather was overcast for most of the trip, we still managed to get lovely views of the mountains. We were always walking on trails that had great natural sights for us. The sight of the far-away villages up front when we were walking from Phakding to Namche was quite the epiphany. Our guide Paban was pretty apt at his job as well- his friendly nature was easy to be around and throughout the trek, we distinctly got the feeling of his concern over us. Little gestures like waiting for us to catch up during the trek, making sure our meals were satisfactory and his general sense of helpfulness gave our trek a special touch of polite hospitality. We cannot emphasize enough about our overall satisfaction of the trek, it was everything we had hoped it would be. A truly wondrous Trek in a beautiful country with trustworthy people whose genuine care and concern shone out.
One of the best highlights of the trek would have to be the hike to Kalapatthar. Once we reached the vantage point, there was no stopping the overwhelming feeling of grandiosity while the views of Mount Everest loomed like a titan in front of us.
