The Everest View Heli Tour takes you to the beautiful Khumbu region- home of the legendary Sherpa people of the mountains. You will begin the journey first to Lukla where you can take in the contrasting landscape that differs so much from the hilly belt of the country. Surrounded by tall cliffs, the Lukla Airport is located atop a cliff with a short runway that makes landing and taking off an exciting mini adventure! The emerging mountain peaks will also let you get your initial encounters with the magnificent oddities of Everest. Then as you move further along the journey, you will visit the popular Syangboche airstrip from where you can see a beautiful panorama of the mountain valley of the Dudh Koshi. The sprawling topography of the river valley presents a gorgeous picture of coruscating mountain rivers and dainty villages and settlements among the verdant Himalayan woodlands. Moreover, the journey also includes a visit to the famous Everest View Hotel- a hotel recorded in the Guinness Book of World records as the highest-located Hotel in the world, boasting of amazing views of Mount Everest from all of its windows.

Day 01 - Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu

You may arrive at the Kathmandu Airport at any time. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by one of Nepal Hiking Team’s representatives. He will help you get transferred to your Hotel. He will also further explain about the plans and programs about the trip. Since there is nothing else planned for today, you may check into your Hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 02 - Flight to Lukla and short trek to Everest View Hotel

Today, you will be transferred to the airport once again for your morning flight to Lukla. The morning flight takes place at approximately 6:30 am. The thirty minute flight to Lukla from the capitol is a fascinating journey, as you can view the changing landscape as the mountains and cliffs come into view when the mid-hills disappear. Lukla is often the starting point of many of the treks that take place in the Everest region. It is a beautiful village that is situated at an altitude of 2,860 meters. At the Lukla village, you can take amazing photographs, after which- you will have a Heli Ride to Syangboche. The airstrip at Syangboche is an unpaved airstrip that is situated at an altitude of 3,780 meters, from where you can enjoy a good panoramic view of Namche Bazar and of the surrounding Himalayan valley. Spending about 10 minutes at the airstrip at Syangboche, you will then trek for approximately 30 minutes to the famous Everest View Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel, lunch and dinner included.     

Day 03 - Explore Khumjung Village

The Everest View Hotel is a famous hotel of the Khumbu. As a matter of fact, it is the highest located hotel in the world. It presents amazing views of Mount Everest from all of its windows and you can enjoy the Himalayan tapestry of Mount Everest from the hotel’s balcony in comfort. In the morning, you can immerse yourself in the sprawling views of the Everest peaks laid out in a spectacular fashion. Later, you will have a short trek to the beautiful Khumjung Village where you can visit the Hillary School and the village’s monastery- where you can witness a purported Yeti scalp! The village is at an elevation of 3,790 meters above sea level, and is situated near Mount Khumbila- a sacred mountain peak that is considered to be the abode of the patron God of Khumbu. The Khumjung school of the village was built by Sir Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust in 1961.The school began as two classrooms but now caters for pre-school, primary and secondary sections with over 350 students. After exploring the village, you will return back to the Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.       

Day 04 - Morning Heli Ride to Lukla and back to Kathmandu

Today, you will enjoy the amazing Heli ride back to the Lukla village, from where you will then have an airplane ride back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu, breakfast included.   

Day 05 - Departure

Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be dropped off at the airport by one of Nepal Hiking Team’s representatives- from where you will depart.
