This trek features some of the finest mountain lodges in the Everest region, offering warm rooms, comfortable beds, and excellent hospitality throughout the journey. The lodges we select are among the best available in the Khumbu region, known for their cleanliness, welcoming atmosphere, and scenic locations overlooking the Himalayan landscapes.
While trekking in the Everest region, accommodation standards vary by location, but the signature lodges provide significantly higher comfort compared to standard teahouses. Guests can expect private rooms, well-maintained dining areas, and professional lodge staff familiar with international travelers.
One of the highlights of this journey is the helicopter transfer, which adds both comfort and efficiency to the itinerary. Helicopter flights in the Everest region depend on weather conditions, as mountain weather can change quickly. For safety reasons, flights may occasionally be adjusted to ensure smooth operations.
Our team closely monitors weather forecasts and coordinates all helicopter arrangements to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. These flights also provide incredible aerial views of the Everest region, including glaciers, deep valleys, and high Himalayan peaks.
Although this is a lodge-based trek designed for comfort, it still involves walking several hours each day at high altitude. Trekkers should have a reasonable level of fitness and be comfortable walking on mountain trails for multiple days.
The itinerary includes gradual altitude gain and carefully planned walking days to help trekkers adjust comfortably to the elevation.
The Everest region reaches significant elevations, and proper acclimatization is essential for a safe and enjoyable trek. Our itinerary is designed to increase altitude gradually while allowing your body to adapt naturally.
Our experienced guides carefully monitor trekkers for any symptoms of altitude sickness and provide guidance on hydration, pacing, and rest when necessary.
Your trek will be led by experienced, government-licensed trekking guides who know the Everest region thoroughly. Our guides are trained in first aid and altitude awareness, ensuring that trekkers receive professional support throughout the journey.
Porters carry the main luggage, allowing trekkers to walk comfortably with only a small daypack.
The best seasons for this trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, weather conditions are generally stable, skies are clearer, and mountain views are exceptional.
Winter trekking is also possible with proper preparation, while the summer monsoon season tends to bring more cloud cover and occasional flight delays.
Safe drinking water is available throughout the trek. Trekkers can refill bottles with filtered or boiled water at lodges along the route.
We recommend bringing a reusable bottle and water purification tablets, or a filtration bottle, for added safety.
Nepal Hiking Team provides purification tablets with your guides.
Travel insurance is mandatory for all trekkers joining this trip. Your insurance policy must cover high-altitude trekking and helicopter evacuation.
Helicopter evacuation is the fastest and safest method of emergency transport in the Everest region if medical assistance becomes necessary.
Trekkers should bring warm layers suitable for high-altitude conditions, including a down jacket, thermal clothing, and sturdy trekking boots. Even during the main trekking seasons, temperatures in the Everest region can drop significantly at night.
Nepal Hiking Team provides a duffel bag for the trek and can also supply sleeping bags and down jackets if required.
Flights to Lukla operate from Kathmandu during low season and from Ramechhap during peak trekking seasons due to air traffic management. Weather conditions in the mountains can sometimes affect flight schedules.
Our team closely manages these logistics and will assist with any necessary adjustments if delays occur.

Absolutely. The Everest Signature Lodge Trek with Private Helicopter is inherently a private experience — every departure is exclusive to your group. Whether you are traveling with friends, family, or as a couple, the entire journey from helicopter flights to lodge stays is arranged solely for your party. This means you set the pace, customize activities, and enjoy the Everest region without sharing the experience with strangers.
Yes, most nationalities can obtain a Tourist Visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. The visa fee is USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, and USD 125 for 90 days. You will need a valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity, a passport-sized photo, and USD cash or a credit card. Indian nationals do not require a visa. We recommend checking the latest Nepal visa requirements before your departure as policies can occasionally change.
Yes, airport arrival and departure transfers by private vehicle are fully included in the package. A Nepal Hiking Team representative will greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon arrival and transfer you directly to Dwarika's Hotel in comfort. On your final day, we will ensure you are transferred to the airport with ample time before your international flight.
You will stay at the renowned Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu, one of Nepal's most celebrated heritage properties. Built using intricately carved wood reclaimed from historic temples, Dwarika's is known for preserving traditional Nepalese architecture and craftsmanship. Three nights at Dwarika's Hotel with breakfast are included in the package — two nights before the trek begins and one night upon return from the Everest region.
On Day 2, you will enjoy a private guided cultural tour visiting two of Kathmandu Valley's most significant spiritual sites. The tour begins at Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world, situated along the banks of the Bagmati River. You will then visit Boudhanath Stupa, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal and a vibrant center of Tibetan Buddhist culture. Walking among surrounding monasteries and prayer wheels provides a meaningful and immersive introduction to Nepal's spiritual traditions before your journey toward the Everest region.
You can book this package by contacting us via our website, email (sales@nepalhikingteam.com), or WhatsApp (+977 9851 058678). A deposit of 20–30% of the total package cost is required to confirm your booking and secure helicopter slots, lodge reservations, and permits. Given the exclusive nature of this itinerary and the limited availability of luxury lodges and private helicopters, we strongly recommend booking at least 2–3 months in advance, especially for peak trekking seasons in spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November).
The remaining balance can be settled upon your arrival in Kathmandu before the trek begins. We accept payment via bank transfer, credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, UnionPay, Diners Club), or cash in USD, EUR, or GBP. Full payment instructions are available on our website at nepalhikingteam.com/how-to-make-payment.
Cancellation policies for this package follow Nepal's trekking industry standards, with consideration for pre-booked helicopter slots, luxury lodge reservations, and restricted area permits. Cancellations made 30 or more days before the departure date may be eligible for a partial refund or future travel credit. Cancellations made closer to the departure date may result in partial or full forfeiture of the deposit. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage. Please review our full Terms and Conditions at nepalhikingteam.com/terms-and-conditions.
This package includes two private helicopter flights. The first is on Day 3, a 45-minute private helicopter flight from Kathmandu directly to Kongde Resort, offering breathtaking aerial views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and deep mountain valleys. The second is on Day 9, a private helicopter flight from Tengboche to Kala Patthar (5,545m) — one of the most iconic viewpoints of Mount Everest — followed by a scenic return flight to Kathmandu. Both flights are exclusively for your group, meaning you will not share the helicopter with other travelers.
Unlike commercial mountain flights or scheduled domestic flights to Lukla, the private helicopter in this package offers a far more personal, flexible, and scenic experience. You depart on your own schedule, land at exclusive points like Kongde Resort and Kala Patthar that are inaccessible by scheduled flights, and enjoy unobstructed panoramic views of the Himalayas throughout. The helicopter also eliminates the need for the long, crowded approach trek from Lukla, allowing you to begin your lodge experience immediately upon arrival in the Khumbu region.
Yes. Helicopter operations in the Himalayan region are weather-dependent and can be subject to delays or rescheduling due to low visibility, cloud cover, or strong winds. Our team monitors weather conditions closely and coordinates with the helicopter operator to choose the safest and clearest available window. We recommend keeping a flexible departure schedule and ensuring your travel insurance covers delays caused by adverse weather. In the rare case of a prolonged weather delay at Tengboche, contingency arrangements will be discussed with you directly.
All ground transportation in Kathmandu — including airport arrival transfer, hotel to helipad transfers, and final airport departure — is handled by private vehicle and included in the package. During the trekking portion between Kongde and Tengboche, all travel is on foot along scenic mountain trails with your guide. No additional road transport is required during the trekking days.
This trek is designed to be accessible to a wider range of travelers compared to a full Everest Base Camp trek. The daily trekking distances are moderate — ranging from 3 to 8 kilometers with 2 to 5 hours of walking per day — along well-maintained trails. The highest point reached on foot is Tengboche at 3,860m, while Kala Patthar (5,545m) is accessed by helicopter rather than on foot. The trek is graded as moderate and is suitable for reasonably fit individuals with a basic level of hiking experience. Prior high-altitude experience is beneficial but not essential.
The full package is 10 days. This includes 2 nights in Kathmandu before the trek, 6 days of active trekking and acclimatization in the Everest region (Days 3–8), the Kala Patthar helicopter day and return to Kathmandu on Day 9, and departure on Day 10. The trekking section covers approximately 20–25 kilometers total across six walking days, making it one of the most accessible yet rewarding Everest region experiences available.
There is no strict age limit for this package. The moderate daily distances and luxury lodge accommodations make this trek more accessible to older travelers and families than a standard Everest Base Camp trek. We have successfully guided travelers in their 60s and 70s on similar itineraries. Children may participate at parental discretion, keeping in mind altitude exposure up to 3,880m during the trek itself. We recommend consulting your physician before travel if you have any cardiovascular or respiratory health concerns.
Given the moderate nature of this trek, a basic level of cardiovascular fitness is sufficient for most participants. We recommend beginning regular aerobic exercise — such as brisk walking, hiking, cycling, or swimming — at least 4–6 weeks before departure. Practicing day hikes with a light backpack (5–7kg) on varied terrain will help your body adjust to the demands of mountain trails. Stretching and leg-strengthening exercises will also be helpful, particularly for the steeper ascents and descents between lodges. The luxury lodge format means you are never required to push beyond your comfort level.
Yes — travel insurance is mandatory and is listed as a cost exclusion that you must arrange independently before travel. Your policy must cover high-altitude trekking up to at least 5,600m (to account for the Kala Patthar helicopter landing), emergency helicopter evacuation, trip cancellation including weather-related delays, and medical evacuation to Kathmandu or your home country. Given the private helicopter elements and luxury lodge bookings in this package, ensuring your insurance adequately covers cancellation costs is especially important.
Your experienced, government-licensed guide carries a comprehensive first aid medical kit and a pulse oximeter throughout the trek. The pulse oximeter is used to monitor your blood oxygen saturation levels at each altitude gain, helping to identify early signs of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) before they become serious. The itinerary includes a dedicated acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar to allow your body to adjust gradually. Should any trekker show concerning symptoms, the guide is trained to initiate immediate descent protocols or arrange helicopter evacuation if necessary.
The best seasons for this trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Spring offers blooming rhododendron forests, mild temperatures, and clear morning skies, while autumn provides the most stable weather, excellent mountain visibility, and post-monsoon freshness in the landscape. Both seasons offer the best chances for clear views from Kala Patthar and the lodge terraces. Winter (December–February) is possible but cold, and the summer monsoon (June–August) brings heavy rainfall to lower elevations, though higher areas remain accessible.
The itinerary is thoughtfully designed with gradual altitude gain and a full acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar (3,440m) to help your body adjust safely. Key personal measures include: staying well hydrated (3–4 liters of water per day), avoiding alcohol during the first few days at altitude, ascending slowly and never rushing the daily pace, eating light and nutritious meals, and sleeping at or below your highest daytime altitude. Your guide monitors oxygen saturation levels with a pulse oximeter daily. If you have concerns about altitude sensitivity, consult your doctor about whether preventative Diamox (Acetazolamide) is appropriate for you.
No vaccines are legally required for entry into Nepal, but several are strongly recommended for travel to the Everest region. These typically include Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Tetanus-Diphtheria, and ensuring routine vaccinations (MMR, flu) are current. If you are transiting through areas with yellow fever risk, a yellow fever certificate may be required. We recommend visiting a travel medicine clinic or your GP at least 6–8 weeks before departure to receive personalized vaccination and health advice for your trip.
Necessary trekking support staff, including porters, are included in the package as required. Porters carry the majority of your luggage between lodges so you can hike comfortably with only a light day pack containing water, snacks, a warm layer, and personal items. Your main duffel bag should ideally not exceed 10–12kg. Since this is a luxury lodge trek with indoor accommodation each night, you do not need to carry camping equipment or sleeping bags.
Since this is a lodge-based luxury trek, the equipment list is considerably lighter than a camping trek. Key items include: sturdy and comfortable trekking boots (well broken-in before travel), moisture-wicking base layers, a warm insulating mid-layer (down or fleece jacket), a waterproof outer shell jacket, trekking trousers, warm hat and gloves, UV-protection sunglasses, sunscreen SPF 50+, a light day pack (20–25 liters), water bottle or hydration system, and personal medications. Trekking poles are optional but recommended for the steeper descent sections.
Yes. You can store city clothes, extra luggage, and non-essential valuables safely at Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu while you are trekking. This is standard practice for lodge trekkers — you travel to the Everest region with only your trekking duffel and day pack, keeping your travel light and manageable in the mountains.
This package features some of the finest lodge accommodation available in the Everest region. In Kathmandu, you stay at Dwarika's Hotel, a celebrated heritage property known for preserving traditional Nepalese architecture. During the trek, accommodation includes Kongde Resort — a mountain lodge perched on a high ridge above the Khumbu Valley; Everest Summit Lodge in Mende; Yeti Mountain Home in Namche Bazaar; the iconic Everest View Hotel, one of the highest situated luxury hotels in the world; and Himalayan Chain Resort at Tengboche. Each lodge is carefully selected for comfort, hospitality, and remarkable mountain views.
Connectivity varies by location on this trek. In Kathmandu, full Wi-Fi and mobile connectivity is available. In Namche Bazaar, Wi-Fi is available at Yeti Mountain Home, though speeds may be slower than you are accustomed to at home. At higher and more remote lodges such as Kongde and Everest View Hotel, connectivity is limited or unreliable. We recommend downloading offline maps, e-books, and entertainment before your trek. Purchasing a local Ncell or Nepal Telecom SIM card in Kathmandu is useful for connectivity in lower-altitude areas.
Yes. All luxury lodges on this itinerary provide charging facilities for electronic devices. However, power availability at higher-altitude lodges may be limited during certain hours. We recommend carrying a portable power bank (10,000–20,000mAh) as a backup to ensure your phone and camera remain charged throughout the trek. This is particularly useful on longer hiking days between lodges.
Yes. Since this is a luxury lodge trek, Western-style toilets and private or semi-private bathroom facilities are available at all lodges on the itinerary. This is one of the key differences between this package and a standard teahouse or camping trek, where basic squat toilet facilities are the norm. Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu provides full five-star bathroom amenities.
Yes. Private room accommodation is standard across all lodges included in this package — from Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu to the mountain lodges in the Everest region. Rooms at high-altitude lodges are cozy and well-appointed for the mountain setting, with comfortable bedding, warm blankets, and carefully designed interiors. If you are traveling as a couple or pair, twin or double room options are available at each property.
All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are included during the trekking portion of the trip from Day 3 through Day 9. The luxury lodges on this itinerary offer well-prepared menus that go well beyond standard teahouse fare, featuring freshly cooked Nepali and international dishes such as soups, pasta, rice dishes, grilled vegetables, eggs, porridge, and baked goods. The Everest View Hotel and Yeti Mountain Home in particular are known for their quality dining experiences in stunning mountain settings. Breakfast is also included on all Kathmandu hotel nights.
Yes. All lodges on this itinerary can accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets. The standard Nepali trekking menu is already largely plant-based, making vegetarian options easy to fulfill. If you have other specific dietary requirements such as gluten-free or nut allergies, please inform us at the time of booking so we can communicate your needs to each lodge in advance and ensure appropriate meal options are prepared for you throughout the journey.
Safe drinking water is available at all luxury lodges on this itinerary, either as boiled water, filtered water, or hot beverages included with meals. We recommend avoiding tap water and using the lodge-provided safe water throughout. Bringing a reusable water bottle and water purification tablets as a backup is a good practice, particularly between lodges during hiking days. Purchasing bottled mineral water is possible at lodges and in Namche Bazaar but generates unnecessary plastic waste in a fragile mountain environment.
Yes. Nepal Hiking Team is happy to tailor this itinerary to your preferences. Popular customizations include extending the Kathmandu cultural experience with additional heritage site visits, adding an extra acclimatization day in Namche or Tengboche, adjusting departure dates, or combining this trek with other experiences such as a Chitwan jungle safari or Pokhara extension before or after the Everest region. Contact us with your interests and travel dates and we will design a personalized itinerary suited to your group.
Yes. A private guided cultural tour in Kathmandu is included in the package on Day 2, covering Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa with an experienced local guide and private vehicle. Additional guided tours to sites such as Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, or Nagarkot for a Himalayan sunrise can be arranged at an additional cost. Please let us know your interests in advance and we will make the arrangements.
Tipping is not included in the package cost but is a meaningful and appreciated gesture for your guide and support staff. The customary time to tip is on the final trekking day or upon return to Kathmandu. For a 10-day private luxury trek, a common guideline is USD 15–20 per day for your lead guide and USD 8–10 per day for each porter or support staff member. Tips are best given directly in cash. Your guide works hard to ensure every aspect of your experience is exceptional and a tip is a wonderful way to acknowledge their dedication.
Since meals, accommodation, transportation, and guided activities are all included in this package, personal spending needs are relatively modest. Budget approximately USD 200–400 for personal expenses including tips for guides and porters, personal shopping in Namche Bazaar or Kathmandu's Thamel district, optional cold drinks and alcoholic beverages at lodges (not included), laundry, personal phone or internet use, and any additional activities. Bring USD cash as ATM availability is limited beyond Namche Bazaar and most lodge extras are paid in cash.
