Tharpu Chuli Peak is also known as Tent Peak and is located in the Annapurna sanctuary. Tharpu Chuli is 5663m. Tharpu Chuli Peak offers an ideal opportunity for those who want to summit a Himalayan peak, but who may otherwise be hesitant to try a higher peak as a Himalayan debut.

Tharpu Chuli Peak is technically easy, but challenging peak. The excitement and pleasure of the climb as we trek along the rich and lush Modi Khola with its plummeting cascades and high waterfalls and through the colorful Gurung villages will be the experience of a lifetime. From the summit we will have amazing views of about eight summits in excess of 8000m such as Machhapuchre, Annapurna I, II, III and IV and Hiunchuli, Baraha Sikhar, Gangapurna, Annapurna, Khansar Kang and Tarke Kang.

Itinerary in Details

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu.
You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at Hotel. B&B
Day 02: Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour.
Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Pasupatinath Temple. Overnight at Hotel. B&B.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m) 6 hours.
After you breakfast at your hotel about 8 o’clock in the morning, then scenic drive to Pokhara via Prithivi Highway Approximately 6 hours. While driving we will have great chances to observe the rural people & various culture on the highway. Overnight at Hotel. B.B
Day 4: Drive Naya Pul (New bridge), to Tikhe Dhunga (1495m) 4 hrs.
After breakfast at around 07:30 hrs drive to Naya Pul (42km) by car/taxi via the large village of Lumle and walk for about 20 minutes to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. The trail follows the main street of Birethanti, going through bamboo forests and past a large waterfall and swimming hole. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail reaches Ramghai where you have lunch. After lunch, climbs gradually up the side of the valley, reaching at Tikhe Dhunga. Overnight at Guesthouse. Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani (2850m) 6 hrs.
From Tikhe Dhunga the trail crosses a stream on a suspension bridge near the camp site at Tikhe Dhunga. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase (which has about 3300 steps) to the large Magar village Ulleri at 2080m. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. There is a camp site for a rest and water stop one hour’s walk above Ulleri. The trail crosses two sparkling streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti where we stop for lunch. Thanti is a Nepali word meaning "rest house”. In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. From Nangethanti climb to Ghorepani at 2750m, from here we can see the spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m). Day 06:  Hiking -Poonhill (3180m), trek to Tadapani (2500m) 6 Hrs.
This morning, we will get up early in the morning, and go for hiking to Poon Hill. From here you will see superb view of sunrise, and panoramic view of Himalayas, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and so on. After visiting Poonhill, we will come back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 07: Trek to Chhomrong (2020m) 5 Hrs.
The day starts with steep downhill. Leaving Tadapani, we descend steeply through forests and then the trail eases as we reach Gurung which is the village of Gurung people. We then take easy walk to Chhomrong. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 08: Trek to Dovan (2600m) 5 Hrs.
Today the trail drops down to the Chhomrong Khola & again we continue climbing to Khuldighar at 2380m where there is an ACAP Check post, and continuous walking to Dovan. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 09: Trek to Deurali (3200m) 4 Hrs.
The day begins with the climb through bamboo, then rhododendron forests to Dovan, Himalayan Hotel and on to Hinko at 3020m. The accommodation will be in Deurali, on the ridge above Hinko & is the stretch of trail that is most subject to avalanche. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4210m) 5 Hrs.
Today the trail climbs on past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m) (which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) to the Annapurna Base Camp. Since it is totally surrounded by mountains, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. You can either end the day at Machhapuchhre Base Camp or trek two hours on to Annapurna Base Camp. There, you will view the mountain scenery which is even more spectacular. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 11: Acclimatization at Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D.
Day 12:  Trek to Tharpu Chuli Peak Base Camp.
We follow the trail leading to Tent peak high camp. Struggling against the glaciated mountain passes, we finally reach our target destination. There are other options for those who not wish to climb. Hiking from camp can be quite pleasurable and adventurous. Sightseeing exotic ecosystem and breathtaking vistas of Himalayan peaks of Nepal can be equally satisfying. Overnight at Tented Camp. B.L.D
Day 13:  Ascent of Tharpu Chuli Peak (5600m)
Early in the morning we begin our ascent of the peak. After strenuous ascent, we finally scale the summit of Tent Peak. From an altitude of 5600meters, we savor mesmerizing views of Annapurna range. Tucking this success under our belt, we return to Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight at Guesthouse.B.L.D
Day 14:  Spare day
We take a complete break from trekking to avoid adverse climatic conditions. This also allows us to rest after our strenuous trekking to enhance our health. Overnight at Guesthouse.B.L.D
Day 15: Trek to Himalaya hotel (2680m)
After relaxation, we head back to Himalaya. 4 hours of walking will eventually take us back to Himalaya Hotel.

Day 16: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot spring). Enjoy the evening at hot spring. O/N at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 17: Trek to Nayapool and drive to Pokhara. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 18: Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel. B&B

Day 19: Transfer to Airport for home departure. “Farewell”.
