Tamang Heritage Trail

Tamang Heritage Trail takes you through green midlands of the country experiencing the beauty of the mountain region and the culture of the people who live here. This, Tamang Heritage Trek is an excellent foreword to trekking in Nepal among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country, with rich Tamang culture. The trail passes through conventional Tamang villages where life, culture, and crafts have remained unchanged since the beginning of the settlement.

Tamang Heritage Trek usually starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Thuman, Timure, Briddim, Lama Hotel, Langtang valley and Kyangjin Gompa. The visit to beautiful local Tamang monastery and the holy Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang adds exhilaration to your trekking.

The Tamang Heritage Trekking area is located about 30 kilometers toward the north of Kathmandu. While trekking to Tamang Heritage Trial, the trekkers will receive vigorous felicitation by the locals rich in their dissimilar costumes, architecture of their mountain houses and ancient monasteries. The Tamang Heritage Trail offers us the wilderness experience through beautiful landscapes of alpine topography, flat meadows and rhododendron forests.

The main inhabitants of this Tamang Heritage are believed to be the descendants of Tibetans from Kerung who intermingled with Tamang of the Helambu area. During this Tamang Heritage trek we can enjoy the thespian views of Langtang Lirung (7245m.), Langtang Kerung, Chimse Danda ridge crossed by Ganjala Pass (5122m.), Dorje Lakpa (6989m.), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges. Not only this, during this Tamang Heritage trek, we will find over 70 glaciers of varying sizes and high altitude lakes including Gosainkunda, Pravatikunda, Bhairavkunda and Dudhkunda.

General Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at Hotel De’L Annapurna.

Day 02: Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple , Boudhanath Stupa & Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight at Hotel De’L Annapurna.

Day 03 :Drive to Syabru. Overnight in lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Goijung (1946m). Overnight in Tent.

Day 05: Trek to Thambuchet (1768m). Overnight in Tent.

Day 06:Trek to Gonggang (2227m). Overnight in Tent.

Day 07: Trek to Tatopani (2607m). Overnight in Tent.

Day 08: Trek to Palkharka (2810m). Trek to Brimdang(2848m). Overnight in Tent.

Day 09: Trek to Nagthali Ghyang (3165m). Overnight in Tent.

Day 10: Trek to Thuman(2338m). Overnight in Tent.

Day 11: Trek to Dalphed (2317m) Overnight in Tent.

Day 12: Trek to Timure (1762m) Overnight in Tent.

Day 13: Trek to Rasuwagadhi (1814m) Overnight in Tent.

Day 14: Trek to Chautara (1708) Overnight in Tent.

Day 15: Trek to Lingling. Overnight in Tent.

Day 16: Trek to Briddhim (2229m) Overnight in Tent.

Day 17: Trek to Gangal (1633) Overnight in Tent.

Day 18: Trek to Syabru Besi Overnight in Lodge.
