Naya Kanga Peak Climbing

The Naya Kanga Peak is also known as Ganja La Chuli, rises to the west of Ganja La, and is a popular but difficult mountain to climb. Naya Kanga is a shapely mountain rising to the west of the Ganja La (5122m) pass giving access to Helambu and the Kathmandu Valley.

The Naya Kanga Peak climbing offers the spectacular panoramic views of mountains in Nepal and Tibet including Langshisa Ri (6,370m), Pemthang Ri (6,836m), Shisapangma (8,046m), Langtang Lirung (7,425m), Pemthang Kapro Ri (6,830m) and Langtang II (6,571m). The normal route of ascent on Naya Kanga is via the North-East Ridge, an aesthetic line on snow and ice, classically alpine in character.

The Ganja La Chuli is a popular trekking peak in Nepal situated in Langtang region, it is an attractive peak rising to the west of the Ganja La (5,122m). The most important reward of this peak is the spectacular views of Langtang mountains, Helambu mountains range including Dorje Lakpa and others beside this.Close to the north side can be seen Tibetan mountain Shisapangma 8035m.

The Naya Kanga peak climbing is strenuous therefore a high level of physical fitness is essential. Climbing the mountain, we will trek through a number of interesting Sherpa village.

Itinerary in Details

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu.
You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at Hotel. B.B

Day 02: Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour.
Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Pasupatinath Temple. Overnight at Hotel. B.B

Day 03: Drive to Syabru Bensi (1462 m) by bus/jeep. 7 hrs
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi which takes about eight hours by bus/jeep. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. While passing along the road at the bank of Trisuli River you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. As you pass through Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. At the same time, you notice that the road is still under construction. Overnight at guesthouse B.L.D

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2500 m) 5 hrs
Today, the first part of the trail crosses through Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail is gradually climbs to Bamboo passing through the Landslide area. Afterwards, your trek ascends gently to Ramche (2400meters) through Bamboo (1960meters) which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. You can have lunch at this place if you like. And at the end your trail is level to the Lama Hotel. En route you could see red pandas, monkeys and bears if you’re lucky. Overnight at guesthouse. B.LD

Day 05: Trek to Langtang Village (3307 m) 5 hrs
The trek route follows Gumanechok, Ghoda Tabela literally it means the Horse Stable. After this the trail is slightly gradual and beautiful in the valley with the grazing Yaks. Langtang village is one of the very local and old villages along this trekking route and the view from here is more spectacular. Overnight at guesthouse. B.LD

Day 06: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3798 m) 4 hrs
Today is a shorter walk but enough for acclimatization. The surroundings are interesting also because of the famous Cheese factory. This beautiful valley in the lap of the Langtang Lirung and other around. A place to explore the valley and lots of small peaks to climb. Overnight at guesthouse. B.LD

Day 07: Kyangjin Gompa Exploration!
Today is a day to rest and explore the area. You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyanjing RI (4350meters) which is highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks. Overnight at guesthouse. B.L.D

Day 08: Exercise hike to Cherko RI (5,150m) 7 hrs
Today, for your good exercise and for the good acclimatization we hike Cherko-Ri, the best view point for the Himalayan scenery from where we can see the 360 degree view of Snow capped surrounding mountains and the Langtang valley. After a superb Himalayan view from Chero RI we return back to hotel for overnight stop. B.L.D

Day 09: Trek to Naya Kanga Base Camp (4,600m) 5 – 6 hrs
Today, after good acclimatization and fitness we ready to climb Naya Kanga base camp. After a breakfast at Kyanjin we pack up our all gears and start to walk through crossing the river and climb up to hill. Base camp just southern part from Kyanjing and it’s about 5-6 hrs where we’ll find small plateau for the camp. B.L.D

Day 10: Trek to High Camp (5000m) 4 hrs
Today, we getting higher and start trek up to high camp. It is walking through the rocky path with lot of bolders and reaches glacier part where we set up our camp. We practice around the glacier for next day climb and Guide will teach you some methods/technique of climb and brief you details and overnight at camp. B.L.D

Day 11: Summit Naya Kanga (5,846m) and to base camp 7 hrs
As instruction by your guide yesterday if the weather is perfect then early about 4 am we wake up and have a breakfast then ready to leave for achieve your dream on the top of summit. Guide will fix the ropes need to belay ropes to help on your guide. After a good teamwork we get to the top of Naya Kanga where from can be enjoy the best panoramic Himalayan view including Tibet part and after a great shoot back to base camp for overnight.  B.L.D

Day 12: Reserve day for unforeseen condition
This day we most kept for the reserve day for the unforeseen condition as weather problem or weakness then you can take this day as your reserve day and if earlier back then you can take the rest somewhere else around may be in Kyangjin Gompa or you can back to Kathmandu day earlier, we will be provided you extra accommodation in Kathmandu. This day may stay at camp or teahouse base on the condition. B.L.D

Day 13: Trek back to Kyanjing Gompa 5 hrs. Overnight at guesthouse. B.L.D

Day 14: Trek back to Lama Hotel (2500 meters) 5 hrs. Overnight at guesthouse. B.L.D

Day 15: Trek to Syabru Bensi (1462 meters) 5 hrs. Overnight at guesthouse. B.L.D

Day 16: Drive back to Kathmandu by bus. 7 hrs. Overnight at hotel. B.L.D

Day 17: Transfer to Airport for your onward Journey. B "Farewell"
