Gokyo Lake Chola Pass Everest Base Camp Trekking

Gokyo lake Cho La Pass Trekking takes you to the foot of Mt. Everest traversing across the high Cho La pass at an altitude of 5420m/17344ft. This is a classic and an unbelievable trekking, visiting all of the high valleys of the Khumbu with extra time at Gokyo to explore the upper valley. While we are trekking in Gokyo valley, we will have time to climb Gokyo RI Peak 5360m. From there we can observe the world famous four peaks above 8000m of Cho Oyu (8201m.), Makalu (8463m.), and Lhotse (8,516m.) and Everest (8848m.) exposed above Gokyo. Our camp at Gorakshep provides the opportunity to ascend to Kala Pathar 5545m for more spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, including the black rocky ramparts of Everest's southwest face.

Gokyo chola pass trekking will lead you to Gokyo Lake and over the Cho La pass at 5430m making a circuit of Tawache (6367m.) and Cholatse (6440m). Emerging into the Khumbu valley above Lobuche the trail continues up to Kala Pathar and then back to Lukla via Tengboche and Namche Bazaar. To top off this unique trek we climb Gokyo Ri (5488m/18000ft) for a panoramic view of the greatest mountain scenery in the world - including five 8000m/26000+ft giants and innumerable other peaks of the Khumbu Himal.

Day to day Itinerary:

Day 01: Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by our Airport Representative, and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square). Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 03: Today early in the morning, we drive about 15 minutes to Tribhuwan Airport International. After 30 minutes flight to Lukla (2804 mtrs.), we begin our trek to Phakding (2610 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3535 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar

This is a day for an acclimatization. We have a fine walk around the valley to adjust with thin air. Namche Bazaar is known as the gateway of the Everest. We will take you to a museum too on the same day.

There you can see the traditional custom of Sherpa peoples. Besides, a fine view of the Everest and other mountains can be overviewed from this place. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 06: Trek to Phorste Drengka (3675m). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D. .

Day 07: Trek to Machherma (4470m). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4790m). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 09: This day early in the morning we have steep climb up to the top of Gokyo Ri (5483m) ample rewards to one attempts this trip.

There are stunning views of the supper Gokyo lake and Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier (Second largest galcier in the world) and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, such as giants as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu (8481m), Cho-Oyu (8153m) and Gychung Kang (7922m) can be seen. Those who explore the glacier and Gokyo peak are rewarded. This day we have for acclimatization and after noon back to the camp. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 10: Trek to Thangna (foot of the Cho-La pass). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 11: Cross Cho-La pass (5330m), and trek down to Dzongla (4830m.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 12: Trek to Labuje (4910m). It is an easy day walking to Labuje. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 13: Today early in the morning we will leave Labuche and hike up to Ghorakshep (5160m.) and Kalapathar (5545m), and return to Ghorakshep. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 14: Early in the morning leaving Ghorakshep, we will head up to Everest Base camp (5400m), and return to Ghorakshep or walk further down to Labuje. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 15: Trek to Tyangboche monastery. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 16: Trek to Khumjung village. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 17: Trek to Phakding. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 18: Trek to Lukla. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 19: Morning flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 20: Transfer to Airport for your home departure. Farewell !!
