Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek leads to the Poon Hill is known as the Poon Hill Trek. It is a short trek that covers many parts of the Annapurna circuit. Unarguably, one of the most beautiful places in Nepal, the Annapurna pulls a huge number of tourists each year. Owing to the raw beauty and thespian views of the high mountains, treks bypassing the Annapurna have always been immensely popular.

In addition to the breathtaking sights of the mountains including Mount Dhaulagiri 8167m, Annapurna I 8091m, Fishtail 6998m, Nilgiri 7041m, Annapurna south 7219m, Annapurna II 7939m, Annapurna III 7555m, Hiunchuli 6441m and Tukuche peak 6920m, the ghorepani poon hill trek gives trekkers the opportunity to mingle with the rural people of the country.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek takes 6 - 10 days, the best time to go on the trek is Jan - May and Sept – Dec. The journey begins in the midst of the rhodondern forests and then leads to the villages of gorkha. The Ghorepani Poon Hill offers panoramas of some of the most magnificent mountains in the world. The maximum elevation achieved is 3180m at Poon Hill.

During the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek places covered in the trek are Pokhara, Tikhe Dhunga, Ghorepani, Tadapani and Ghandruk. The trek is suitable for those who do not have much time to explore the entire country.

After a short sightseeing tour of the world heritage sites in Kathmandu, tourists are taken to pokhara. The next destination on the list is Tikhe Dhunga. On the way to Tikhe Dhunga tourists will encounter bamboo forests, a large waterfall and swimming hole. At Ghorepani, breathtaking views of the Himalayan sunrise await tourists.

The Ghorepani Poon Hill, standing reasonably tall at 3210m, is one of the best regions to view the mighty peaks of the Annapurna. The views of the majestic peaks combined with the surrounding rice terraces make for an interesting sight.The Ghorepani Trek is most suitable for tourists who are bound by time limitations or are not so physically fit to endure the stress of the journey.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu
You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at hotel

Day 02: Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour
Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Pasupatinath Temple. Overnight at hotel, inclusive of full board meals

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m) 6 hrs
After breakfast at your hotel we will depart at 8am; take a scenic drive to Pokhara via the Prithivi Highway (approx 6 hours). While driving we will have many chances to observe rural people & various cultures along the highway. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive full board meals

Day 04: Drive Naya Pul (New bridge), to Tikhe Dhunga (1495m) 4 hrs
After breakfast at around 07:30am, we will drive to Naya Pul (42km) by car/taxi via the large village of Lumle and walk for about 20 minutes to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. The trail follows the main street of Birethanti, going through bamboo forests and past a large waterfall and swimming hole. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail reaches Ramghai where you will have lunch. After lunch, the trail climbs gradually up the side of the valley, reaching Tikhe Dhunga. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive full board meals

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2850m) 6 hrs
From Tikhe Dhunga the trail crosses a stream on a suspension bridge near the camp site at Tikhe Dhunga. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase (which has about 3300 steps) to the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080m. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. There is a camp site for a rest and water stop one hour’s walk above Ulleri. The trail crosses two sparkling streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti where we stop for lunch. Thanti is a Nepali word meaning "rest house”. In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. From Nangethanti we will climb to Ghorepani at 2850m, from here we can see the spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Nilgiri (6940m) Annapurna I (8091m) Hiunchuli (6441m) and more. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive full board meals

Day 06: Hiking -Poonhill (3180m), trek to Tadapani (2500m) 6 hrs
This morning, we will get up early and hike to Poon Hill. From here you will see a superb view of the sunrise and a panoramic view of the Himalaya, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and others. After visiting Poonhill, we will come back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive full board meals

Day 07: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1950m) 3-4 hrs
The Ghandruk trail descends steeply through forests to the village of Ghandruk where we will arrive around noon. We will overnight here so have the afternoon to visit the Annapurna conservation office and museum. Overnight at guesthouse, inclusive full board meals

Day 08: Ghandruk to Pokhara (910m) 5 hrs
Today we descend from Ghandruk seuli Bazar & meet a flat trail along the Modi Khola, eventually we will make a circuit when we got Birethanti then we will have lunch at Birethanti, the place is very famous for fresh fish, trek continue towards Nayapul & drive to Pokhara by Taxi/Van. Overnight at hotel, inclusive full board meals

Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu, 6 hrs. Overnight at hotel, inclusive of breakfast

Day 10: Breakfast at hotel, transfer to Airport for your onward Journey. "Farewell"
