Royal Chitwan National Park was declared Natural Heritage Site in 1979. The Chitwan National park is situated in southern central Nepal Covering an area of 932-sq-kms the park includes hilly areas of the Shiwalik range covered by deciduous Sal forest and floodplains of Narayani, Rapti and Reu rivers covered by dense tall Elephant grass interspersed with forests of silk cotton (Kapok), Acacia and Sisam trees. The Chitwan National park offers a wilderness of rich ecosystem that includes mammals, birds, reptiles and water animals of several kinds. The main highlights of the Chitwan National park are the Asian One-horned rhinoceros and the Royal Bengal tigers that live in the dense forests of the park.
This ecologically diverse area is the last remaining home in Nepal for more than 300 of the endangered Asian one-horned rhinoceros and harbors one of the largest populations of the elusive and rare Royal Bengal Tiger. Besides Rhino and Tiger, Chitwan also support a great variety of flora and fauna. There are four species of Deer, including the Spotted Chital, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Wild Dog, Small Wild Cats, the white stocking Gaur (world's largest wild cattle) and many other smaller animals.
While doing the jungle safari in Chitwan national park we will discover a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines, pre-historic rhino and lumbering elephants, rhesus monkey, grey langur, deer, leopards, wild cats crocodile, python and deer; brilliantly colored birds and if you are lucky - the superb Royal Bengal Tiger. Another most important factor while having the jungle safari in the Chitwan National park is the colorful Tharu Culture, their way of living, culture and tradition and heart touching Tharu Dance. The Jungle Safari in Chitwan National park offers the Jungle Safari on elephant back, jungle walk, canoe ride, jeep drive etc.
By Surface: pleasant five hours drive by car or bus on the Kathmandu - Narayanghat highway follows the Trisuli River offering you a continually changing landscape from the mountains of the Himalayas to the plains of the Terai.
By Rafting:One of the most exciting ways to travel to the park is to raft down the Trisuli River. For two or more days you can float down the river experiencing its numerous rapid and seeing a variety of village life, flora and fauna along its banks.
By Flight: 20 min. flight will bring you from Kathmandu to Bharatpur where you will be met by our staff and transfer to the resort.
