Starting from the picturesque villages of various ethnic group people, the trail runs through dense rhododendron and oak forests to meadows to alpine region vegetation. The most fascinating experience of your entire journey is that you will always find the snow clad mountains in your backdrop.

Also known as tent peak, the summit offers spectacular views of hanging glaciers, moraines, wild mountains and Annapurna sanctuary. Climbing along the ridge of the peak is somewhat easy and somewhat technically difficult. Prior experience of climbing would add to your climbing journey. As the trek consists of climbing adventure, you should be physically and should have good endurance capacity. Before your climb, your team leader will give you some techniques on climbing and brief you about do’s and don’ts during the climb. All you have to do is follow the footsteps of team leader and relish the beauty that the Tharpu Chuli peak climbing can offer.

Day 01 - Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu

You are welcomed by hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Our airport representative will explain briefly the program upon arrival. Overnight at hotel

Day 02 - Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

Sightseeing of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including, Kathmandu Darbar square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Pasupatinath Temple. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 03 - Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m) Duration: 6 hrs

After breakfast, we set off to Pokhara, the second largest city of Nepal. The Scenery along the road is dramatic and you will see the river, valleys, cascading rice terraces and rocky gorges. upon arrival, check in hotel, in the evening, you may enjoy leisure boating on the scenic Fewa Lake and see the reflection of the Mount Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Range on the crystal clear water of the Lake. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 04 - Drive Naya Pul (New bridge), to Tikhe Dhunga (1495m) Duration: 4 hrs

After breakfast at around 07:30am, we will drive to Naya Pul (42km) by car/taxi via the large village of Lumle and walk for about 20 minutes to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. The trail follows the main street of Birethanti, going through bamboo forests and past a large waterfall and swimming hole.

Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail reaches Ramghai where you will have lunch. After lunch, the trail climbs gradually up the side of the valley, reaching Tikhe Dhunga. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 05 - Trek to Ghorepani (2850m) Duration: 6 hrs

From Tikhe Dhunga the trail crosses a stream on a suspension bridge near the camp site at Tikhe Dhunga. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase (which has about 3300 steps) to the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080m. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields.

There is a camp site for a rest and water stop one hour’s walk above Ulleri. The trail crosses two sparkling streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti where we stop for lunch. Thanti is a Nepali word meaning “rest house”. In the winter the trail can be covered with snow.

From Nangethanti we will climb to Ghorepani at 2850m, from here we can see the spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m). Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 06 - Hiking -Poonhill (3180m), trek to Tadapani (2500m) Duration: 6 hrs

This morning, we will get up early and hike to Poon Hill. From here you will see a superb view of the sunrise and a panoramic view of the Himalaya, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and others. After visiting Poonhill, we will come back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 07 - Trek to Chhomrong (2020m) Duration: 5 hrs

The day starts with a steep downhill. Leaving Tadapani, we will descend steeply through forests and then the trail eases as we reach Gurung which is the village of the Gurung people. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 08 - Trek to Dovan (2600m) Duration: 5 hrs

Today the trail drops down to the Chhomrong Khola & again we continue climbing to Khuldighar at 2380m, where there is an ACAP Check post; after, the trek is a continuous descent to Dovan. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 09 - Trek to Deurali (3200m) Duration: 4 hrs

The day begins with the climb through bamboo, then rhododendron forests to Dovan, the Himalayan Hotel and on to Hinko at 3020m. The accommodation will be in Deurali, on the ridge above Hinko & is the stretch of trail that is most subject to avalanche. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 10 - Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4210m) Duration: 5 hrs

Today the trail climbs on past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m) (which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) to the Annapurna Base Camp. Since, it is totally surrounded by mountain.

This area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. You can either end the day at Machhapuchhre Base Camp or trek two hours on to Annapurna Base Camp. There, you will view the mountain scenery which is even more spectacular. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 11 - Trek to Tharpu Chuli Peak Base Camp (4910m) Duration: 3-4 hrs

We head towards Tent peak high camp/Tharpu Chuli Base Camp. We struggle against the glaciated mountain pass and finally reach our destination. For those who do not wish to climb, hiking from camp can be quite pleasurable and adventurous.

Sightseeing exotic ecosystem and breathtaking vistas of Himalayan peaks of Nepal can be equally satisfying. Overnight at tent, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Pre-Climb Training: After lunch, our guides will provide training on peak climbing techniques and using climbing gears such as ice axe, climbing boot and crampons, harness, ascender, etc. and on how to go up and down using ropes.

Although it is not mandatory to have prior training experience for peak climbing, we believe that some training experience will boost up your confidence and climbing skills, thus increasing the chances of scaling the summit as well as to fully enjoy the experience.

Day 12 - Summit Tharpu Chuli Peak (5653m), and return to ABC (4210m) Duration: 8-9 hrs

We ascend to the peak early in the morning. After strenuous ascend, we scale the summit of Tent Peak. We savor mesmerizing views of Annapurna range from there. Tucking success under our belt, we return to Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 13 - Reserve day for contingency

There is no such guarantee that we can get quite a favorable weather on our planned day for the summit (day 12), so this day is used as a contingency in case if we are unable to summit the peak on day 12 due to bad weather condition or some other reasons.

If weather gets exceptionally unfavorable we wisely have to postpone the program of summiting the peak. Sometimes somebody in the group may get some problems in acclimatizing well enough to make the ascent; the day can be used in that condition too. If the trip goes smoothly, we do not need this spare day. Overnight at tented camp or guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 14 - Explore the hidden valley and trek back to Bamboo,

Day 15 - Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot spring) Duration: 6 hrs

Day 16 - Jhinu Danda to Pokhara, 5-6 hrs

Trek to Naya Pul; then transfer to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel, breakfast and lunch included.

Day 17 - Pokhara to Kathmandu

Pokhara to Kathmandu
Scenic drive back to Kathmandu by private vehicle 5-6 hrs. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 18 - Farewell

Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Nepal Hiking Team will take you to the airport.
