Pokhara Valley

Pokhara is an enchanting city nestled in a tranquil valley known as a hub of the adventure.  Its natural ambience which allows enjoying lakeside tranquility and breathtaking view of magnificent Machhapuchhre (fish tail) peak (6993m) has transformed Pokhara into a paradise of earth. Col. Jimmy Roberts,  a veteran paratrooper  of the Burma campaign , and more famously known as the father of the international recreational trekking and adventure vacationing in the Himalaya writes, “No other mountain view in the world is equal handing there in the sky above the green Pokhara plain” at the altitude of 2700 feet (900-plus meters), this resplendent and verdant valley is a tropical destination of the scenic and azure lakes in the foregrounds of the sudden green hills and majestic snowy mountains. Inhabited by diverse Nepalese ethnic and caste peoples, the soil is richly fertile of rice, tangerines, poinsettias, and dotted with chautara resting places.

The epicenter of mid- western Nepal, Pokhara leads the way to the royal Chitwan national park, Bhairahawa and Lumbini in the south and southwest while the northern routes leads to the highest points in the Himalayan and the Tibetan Plateau via Bagbeni, Marpha, Muktinath, Jomsom , Manang , Mustang, Thorung – La, the Annapurna circuit and the Annapurna sanctuary.

As Pokhara offers air adventure like Ultra light aircraft and Paragliding, it is the perfect city to enjoy the holidays for tourists. There is hardly any place in the world which could match the unparallel view of the fishtail mountain and Annapurna range at the backdrop of Phewa Lake. It is the best place to have mountain bike ride. Trek Sarangkot is rewarding for the viewing Annapurna range. David’s falls, Seti Gorge, Mahindra Cave, and world Peace Stupa are a few places that one should not avoid while in Pokhara.
